Description
TEN STORIES MORE SHOCKING THAN FICTION.
For fans of John Grisham's page-turning legal thrillers, Framed is told with all the conviction of an edge-of-your-seat courtroom drama.
John Grisham's first work of non-fiction since The Innocent Man, Framed uncovers stories that shine an astonishing light on miscarriages of justice. Written with Jim McCloskey, all the cases in this book are simply extraordinary. And all are true.
Joe Bryan suffered the unbearable tragedy of his wife's murder, only to be tried and found guilty of the crime himself - despite being 120 miles away at the time it was committed.
Clarence Brandley spent nine years on Death Row, coming to within six days of execution, before new evidence cleared him of all charges.
And in the case of the Norfolk Four, police and prosecutors continued to arrest innocent people until not one but four men were behind bars.
An instant New York Times bestseller, Framed is an impeccably researched and grippingly told exposé of the US criminal justice system.

In Framed, John Grisham and Jim McCloskey present 10 true cases of miscarriages of justice. Their stories reveal the lies, incompetence, laziness, misconduct and racism that condemned the innocent. This well-researched book is as gripping as any novel. You cannot read it without feeling anger at the injustices suffered. An important book that is highly recommended.

An astonishing series of coverups by the US State authorities, related in accessible and non legalistic prose. Often pretty chilling. How many other cases haven't come to light?
This was a difficult and heartbreaking read
Ten cases of wrongful convictions explained by John Grisham and Jim McClosey.
21 people accused of the most heinous crimes.
These miscarriages of justice that should never of happened they were at times nowhere near where the crimes were committed yet once the people in authority had them on their radar nothing and no one could change their minds even when the real culprit was at times under their noses.
The strength of the accused in each case is totally humbling.
I can not imagine what it must feel like to know you have not done something you are accused of but for no one to listen,to spend the best years of your life in prison and to lose everything you hold dear.
An important read that needs to be told.
Thanks to Netgalley and Hodder and Stoughton for the ARC.
