Description

All Izzy wanted was a happily-ever-after with her husband Jack. She didn’t expect to become a widow at the age of 26, with a toddler and a baby on the way.

Fast forward three years and Izzy finally has her feet underneath her as a widow and mom. Izzy is moving back to Breakaway Shores, on the Oregon coast, to find a house where her boys can play in the sand, and she can watch the waves.

Her brother, who happens to be the real estate king of the coast, knows the perfect house. The handsome owner, Zander, is one of his friends who is ready to move out of town. He’s a retired football star and is drawn to Izzy’s independence and strength.

The more time they spend together, the more Izzy realizes Zander might be worth the risk of opening up her heart again. He’s everything she wasn’t ready to look for and that scares Izzy. She knows what happens when a couple doesn’t get their happily-ever-after.

Can Izzy trust Zander with her heart, or will she stand in the way of the happily ever after she’s afraid to lose a second time?

Advance Praise

4 STARS by Goodreads Reviewer - Well, this was adorable. I’m normally a monster romance girly so I was a bit nervous at the start but let me tell you, I was kicking my little toes at the end. Zander seems like such a catch and the problems between the pair felt realistic and resolved in a realistic way. I hate it when characters get in disagreements and it is totally washed over. The author did a great job making them seem like real people with human emotions and thoughts. Plus it was set in my home state, so it was cool to see it set in Oregon!

4 STARS by Goodreads Reviewer - Was sent this book as an ARC. This read was SO cute and sweet! Zander as the MMC was swoon worthy and I loved how patient he was with Izzy, the FMC. Second chance love in this book for Izzy after losing her husband and was left alone with her two kids. Luke, her brother, also was a great side character that I felt added to the plot in a good way, rather than just an unneeded addition.

The Coast is Clear by Jensen Rose Long
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Izzy is a widow with two young sons. They moved to Breakaway Shores, a small town on the Oregon coast. Izzy's brother, Luke is a realtor and he is helping her find the family a new home. They find the perfect house but the owner is a retired football player who is also friends with Luke. Sparks fly between Izzy and Zander. Izzy is scared of opening up to him and still grieving the loss of her husband. He slowly breaks down her walls but he is supposed to move after summer. Is this just a temporary thing or will the relationship last?

Zander is so wonderful!! He is so good to Izzy. He takes things slow and at a speed that she is comfortable with. He is super thoughtful, kind, and goes out of his way to show appreciation. I really enjoyed this story and appreciated the representation of finding love after a great loss. It was a little bit of a slow burn, but due to the MFC journey I think it was a necessary build.
