Description
Despite numerous obstacles, small-town girl Lenore Zann caught the acting bug early. She was "discovered" at 19 and chosen to play Marilyn Monroe in a rock opera based on the life of the tragic movie star. Her powerhouse performance kickstarted her career, leading to hundreds of acting credits in film, TV, theatre, radio, and animation, including her iconic portrayal of Rogue in the very popular animated series X-Men: The Animated Series.
A Rogue's Tale reveals the good, the bad, and the ugly in show business. It recounts her personal interactions with Stephen Spielberg, Tiny Tim, Craig Russell, and Rita MacNeil, dating celebrities Keanu Reeves, Andy Gibb, Lou Gossett Jr, and Page Fletcher, and working with award-winning actors and directors such as Sam Rockwell, Mark Wahlberg, Clark Gregg, Henry Czerny, Atom Egoyan, Antoine Fuqua, and other Hollywood heavyweights.
Despite a successful acting career, in a strange twist of fate, like Marilyn Monroe herself, alcohol and drugs brought Lenore to her knees at the age of 36. But unlike Marilyn (who succumbed to her addictions at the same age), Lenore decided the braver choice was to live, which led to a powerful spiritual awakening and a new sense of purpose. This decision has enabled Lenore to fly to even greater heights on the magical wings of Disney.
Like her iconic character Rogue, Lenore Zann's determination to rise from the ashes again and again, to stand up not only for herself but for others, is a masterful lesson in how to roll with the punches, to awaken the inner superhero, and constantly re-emerge from devastation and destruction—like the mythical Phoenix.
A Rogue's Tale will appeal to readers of all ages who are looking for a fresh voice and perspective on life with a pop culture twist to help them navigate their own journey during uncertain and dangerous times.

A fascinating story that has you yearning for more from an author who generously lays her life out before us. A Rogue's Tale invites us into the life of Lenore Zann in a way that feels incredibly authentic to the her. Lenore tears open the curtains, takes us by the hand and leads us through her story full of adventure, tragedy, triumph and hope. I found myself astonished by the all we learn and each chapter is filled with incredible tales that you simply have to read for yourself.
If you are a fan of Lenore, If you are a fan of her work as Rogue in X-men then this book shows you new sides to a woman who is every bit as strong as the character she so famously portrays. However, if you are a young actor, or just someone looking for direction this book is filled with a wealth of knowledge from someone who has seen it all.
We got the pleasure of reading A Rogue's Tale by Lenore Zann early and I cannot recommend this book enough! Reading the book, you really do think Lenore has written her entire career so I was shocked to find out this was her first book! A Rogue's Tale is raw and courageous and gives you a real look at Lenore's incredible life. Honestly, it's as if it was ten different lives into one. The book had so many amazing life lessons throughout the book, it definitely felt like a self help book at some points. For those X-Men fans like myself, this book makes you realize that she truly is the embodiment of Rogue herself. Lenore's fights for social justice is something I've always admired about her and seeing what she's truly gone through makes me admire her even more. She put all of the raw details out for everyone to see, and I applaud her for that. Extraordinarily well written to the point that you find yourself sobbing at some points. I really hope Lenore Zann writes another book because I'll be the first in line to read it.

Lenore Zann is known for her voice role as Rogue in the X-Men animated series. In her book, A Rogue's Tale, she documents her life from her upbringing as an Aussie child to getting the acting bug and getting to play Marilyn Monroe in a rock opera. Her life is intriguing as she discusses her passion for fighting for the underdogs and becoming a politician. Her young adult life is filled with ups and downs including having romantic relationships with celebrities, getting to meet Steven Spielberg, dealing with the bad side of Hollywood, and more. There is so much that has surprised me when reading the book, including having a romantic encounter with Keanu Reeves.
There are a lot of discoveries about Zann's life as a fan, and if you want to know more about who she is and her earlier adventures, definitely check this out. From the screen to real life, Zann embodies Rogue in terms of wanting to make the world a better place for the underdogs.
