Making time for creativity is one of my go-to self-care activities. This book is a must for all ages. It's a great way to be inspired and get those artistic vibes flowing. There are so many fun techniques that make the act of painting more enjoyable than the final product.
Start Here: Paint is an ideal gift for beginner and intermediate artists who want to play with watercolors. Examples and project range from a simple butterfly to more advanced and detailed butterfly paintings. Instructions for florals and landscapes are included. The chapter on creating shadow is especially helpful because many watercolor painting guides do not include information on how to paint in black, white, and grey. The instructions for all the projects are easy to follow. Highly recommended for library collections.
This is a guide for watercolour and acrylic paints, although, you can implement some of the tips, or try some of the exercises using other kinds of paint.
It is a beginner’s book, yet, there are enough fresh and interesting patterns or exercises to try for more experienced artists. A fun book for those who are picking up painting after some gap as well.
There is a great amount of detail and variety in this book. I enjoyed how much it covered seasonal themes and nature and animals. I am in a bit of a painting slump right now and reading this book made me feel more excite to play with my watercolors!
Start here: paint by Moira clinch is an excellent beginners guide to painting. The book itself takes you through the painting process, getting progressively more detailed as it goes just how a class room would. Definitely a good guide for future painters or just those wanting to go over some basics.
