In the aftermath of The Great Melt, what is left of the natural environment stands on the brink of extinction. Ròna, the red-haired, speckle-cheeked heroine of this history of the future, forms an unbreakable bond with Cuilean, her childhood friend turned gladiator in the arenas of the DownBlow. They’ve known each other since they were children – and throughout that time, they’ve been friends, then enemies, and then lost to each other, but as they’ve grown older, their love for each other has grown against a backdrop of dangerous adventures and perilous escapades, revealing the resilience of their love and passion even in the face of overwhelming adversity.
