Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for this advance readers copy in exchange for my honest feedback. Very cute story for bedtime to help your child learn to count and to ease into falling asleep. The illustrations give a moody night with deep blues that is perfect for bedtime. Very cute!!!!

Wow! This was so cute and so fun! The little one was so into saying baaaaaa and would rub their eyes so that it took some time before I could turn the page for her. Would be better with sensory fluff, but digital copies are what they are.

I had so much fun reading this book! There are two things that I liked about this book, and two things that didn't work so well.
The good:
- The rhyming worked perfectly and definitely puts the reader into a focused and relaxed state. This makes it a perfect bedtime book for very young readers. This makes it an accessible and easy tool for parents to use to get their little ones to bed effortlessly.
- The sheep in the illustrations were adorable! These brought me a lot of joy reading this book, and I know for sure that kids will adore the sheep as well.

The not-so-good:
- I would have liked to see some more variety in the illustrations. After about two pages, they started to feel very repetitive. As a result, a lot of the illustrations became lackluster, when there was so much potential.
- Similarly, there wasn't a lot of variety in terms of vocabulary. In the next few days, if I have to read the word "soft" one more time I will scream. There were many other adjectives that the author could have used to describe the sheep to help keep the reader engaged and interested.

I was given a free copy of this from NetGalley for my honest review.

This cute little book has adorable illustrated sheep to be counted as littles try and go to sleep. I couldn't keep from kind of singing the words in my head. This really was a cute little book. It does go from 1 to 10 and it's sheep also getting ready for bed as you read to your own little.

This book is based on the classic concept of counting sheep to sleep. The story is easy to read in a quiet calming way to lull a little ones to sleep. The font is big, bold and on a white background making it super easy for kids learning words to recognize. I love that the book encourages counting too. The art, while seemingly AI generated, is really cute and we loved seeing the different positions the sheep were in on each page. Cute book and I’d recommend!

Thank you to I am grateful to Mara Mae, BooksGoSocial, and Netgalley for the Advanced Reader Copy of this title.

This is an adorable litle book that does exactly what it sets out to do in the blurb. Mae has produced a simple, classic, rhyming book that counts from 1 to 10 using sheep as the vehicle to fall asleep learning numbers.

I love the learning element of this book. It includes the spelling of the number at the start of the associated page and prints the number on the corner of the picture page as well as depicting the relevant number of sheep doing something that corresponds with the text. For the most part, the rhyming flows really well, although I was halted after stumbling at 'nine fluffy sheep'.

I couldn't decide whether I liked the blank white page with block text on the left, with the picture on the right. On the one hand, it provided a predictable structure and less distraction for going to sleep, but as a day time reading book, the text page seemed bland. Howewver, I did like the big bold text that makes it easy for children to follow along. Sure, it included some words that the target group is unlikely to use or know during the time the book remains appealing to them e.g., serene, and inspired, but I'm not sure it matters all that much.

This is a great bedtime read to soothe young children to sleep with the mundane counting and their proimary caregiver's voice, yet a lovely illustrated text to pick things out of the picture when feeling more stimulated during the day. It's a book likely to be selected repeatedly thus making a good addition to play centres, nurseries, and a child's reading corner at home.

The illustrations were giving an AI feel about them. They have that CGI look about them. If this is the case, they were well supported by the prompts and perfectly fitting for the book with a uniform feel to them. Either way, I liked the images.

Overall, I rate the book a 4/5 stars simply because the flow faltered towards the end, and the left page could have been more aesthetically pleasing.

This is a super cute book that will be great for helping young children learn to count. The flowing rhythm of the story will also help soothe them to sleep.

I like the layout, with each double page being allocated to one number with text on one side and a corresponding image on the other.

I can see this being the sort of book that could be read over and over.

A child cannot go to sleep until he's counted sheep, so we count with him – and get a four-line verse alongside each image of progressively more sheep, from 1 to 10. The text is fine – some bits of it making more sense than others, but rhyming very strongly and pleasantly. The visuals are also fine – really cute and definitely fluffy-looking sheep do their thing. I certainly got the impression AI was involved in this side of things, if not in the writing too, but at a knock-down price (according to netgalley) there's little cause for complaint.

I love books that help kids get to sleep. Sometimes kids just have trouble shutting off their brain and going to bed but this book has a cozy feel to it. I loved the little rhyming poems with the sheep while they were doing the little facial expressions. I could see my nephews and nieces loving this book before bed. I picture in my brain a nice warm bath and they've got some lavender lotion on and they're settling in reading this book to help them go off to sleep. The art was colorful to keep their eyes looking at every page.

Cute read to read to children for wind down time just before sleep.
Encourages them to think relaxing thoughts while also teaching them.to count.
Told in rhyming verses which always seems more fun for children, with great illustrations too.
