Description

An outrageously charming Korean-American coffee shop romcom!

Meet River Langston-Lee. In the past 24 hours, he's dumped his girlfriend, walked out of his SATs, and quit his job at his parents' Seattle cafe in spectacularly disastrous fashion - even for him.
Somehow, he manages to talk his way into a job at a failing Korean cafe, Bingsu for Two. This could be his lucky break - but then he meets grumpy goth Sarang Cho, his new, no-BS co-worker, and she is as determined to make River's life hell as she is to save her family's cafe.
After River accidentally uploads a video of his chaotic co-workers to his popular fandom account, the cafe strikes viral fame. The kicker? Their new fans are putting River and Sarang together, big-time. In order to keep the internet's attention - and the cafe's new paying customers - River and Sarang must pretend that the tension between them is definitely of the romantic variety, not the considering the best way to kill you and hide your body variety.
But when Bingsu for Two's newfound success catches the attention of River's ex and his parents' cafe around the corner, he faces a choice: keep letting others control his life or stand up for the place that's become home. And a green-haired girl who's not as heartless as he originally thought . . .

With witty banter, a dash of family drama, and tons of coffee shop charm, Bingsu for Two is an outrageously fun and heartwarming ride. The chemistry between River and Sarang is electric, making their journey from enemies to something more absolutely unmissable. It is the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and downright funny.

I was absolutely charmed by these teenagers making terrible decisions but all looking out for each other and finding love through friendships, romantic relationships AND family.

I appreciated how much of a mess the main character is [felt very true to my self at seventeen haha], i appreciated the found/chosen family vibes as everyone looked out for each other even when they were hurting each other. I REALLY appreciated the slow-burn of it all.

As i said, completely charmed and have added a few previously untried items from the cafe menu to my Must Consume List.

Bingsu for Two is a rivals to lovers/ fake dating tale that takes place in Korean coffee shop. After River quits being manager at his parent's coffee shop, he is desperate to find another job and ends up working in a not so successful Korean coffee shop, where he must preted he is dating one of his co-workers to keep up apperances and help with business.

This was such a fun and cute read, River and Sarang have instant chemistry and continue to do so throughout the book; as they get to know each other better they soon begin to care deeply for one another, but I love that they do not lose that banterous side to their relationship. River also has great chemisty with his friends, their entire group has a great dynamic and it was entertaing to read all their interactions.

I loved the structure of this book - love that uses more than one writing medium, so scripts for when they are filiming their videos for instgram as well as screenshots of different fanfiction sites. It made it more of an interesting read and was a great creative choice.

Overall this was a great read and love that all the characters experience a lot of development and as the reader you go on that journey with them, River and Sarang especially. Their journeys are very relatable and I'm sure will resonate with a lot of readers.

If you're looking for a short read but with a lot of cute vibes but also a lot of character reflection and growth; you'll love this one!

Thank you Hot Keys - Bonnier Books for the early access!
