Description

*Hallmark with Snark*

Two rival travel writers are sent on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday to learn the true meaning of Christmas without killing each other…

Eve Sherwood has never been a fan of Christmas. Too commercial, too busy. But when her editor assigns her to write a piece on Noelville, a special one-week Christmas experience, she has to go. She knows her job is to write a predictable holiday story, but how much gingerbread can one girl eat?

Will Fowler doesn’t believe in magic or Christmas, and certainly not the magic of Christmas. And he’s none too happy when he boards the train to Noelville and finds his nemesis, Eve Sherwood, already seated. Now he’s supposed to tolerate the faux cheer and the snow and the non-stop jingle belling with her sleeping in the quaint cabin next door?

Eve and Will know this trip is a test to see who can set aside their disdain and write the most absurdly sappy story in order to win an upcoming promotion. They know how the standard holiday script goes: Cynical city person travels to a small town, helps save Christmas, and falls in love with the attractive local. But what happens when two cynical city people travel to Noelville, help save Christmas, and accidentally fall for each other?

(This book is written to be a seriously funny Hallmark movie with additional snark but no heat. Enjoy!)

Wow did i love this! This book felt like a self- aware Hallmark movie, full of cynicism and Christmas magic. I absolutely adored the two main characters and would love to see them featured in another book! While this was a short novella, I felt drawn into it far easier then i usually do with books this length. The banter was bouncing off the pages and I actually laughed out loud several times.
The plot was sometimes cliche and predictable, but that didn't really take away from any of the enjoyment for me.
Would recommend 100°%

This was a cute, clean, easy read! It was the perfect book to get into the holiday spirit! I loved feeling like I was jumping right into a hallmark movie. The characters were so easy to love and the plot was so fun. I ABSOLUTELY loved the banter!

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exhange for an honest review.

I did not think I'd enjoy this as much as I did. I like Christmas but much like the FMC & MMC, I have similar thoughts!

I genuinely had fun reading this and thoroughly enjoyed the banter between the FMC & MMC. It was ridiculously witty and actually made me laugh. I didn't realize it would be a no-spice, completely closed door romance which I usually don't go for but I loved the writing. The whole story was just wonderful and I did love it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I. Was not. Expecting. This. At. All.

Let me introduce myself. I am on the furthest end of the spectrum away from "cynical" and is very excited about Christmas. For some reasons, even while trying to life my spirits up so that I'd be festive, I really wasn't feeling it this year. Who knew all I wanted for Christmas is this book? (Far fetched pun intended)

So, a little about this book. This book is literally what you would expect a sweet Christmas romcom to be. Two cynics, magic of Christmas, a bit of forced proximity, you've got it. I think a lot of the success of romance books relies not on the originality of the story, but it's delivery. The dialogues should be swoony but not too cheesy. The banter should be funny but not "try hard

Guess what? That's exactly what the book delivered. Throughout the whole book, I felt warm, fuzzy and excited and found myself chuckling here and there like Santa himself. This novella, while just being over a 100 pages, completely won me over and I'm so happy for this unexpected fun.

One more thing. This made me very. Hungry. The constant mentions of all those baked goods literally made my mouth water. Guess who's baking in the weekends?

Overall I enjoyed this greatly and recommend it to anyone looking for a quick Christmas read!
