Description
A wedding should be fun . . . right?
The Princess Bride meets Travis Baldree in Tea You at the Altar, the third cosy fantasy in Rebecca Thorne's bestselling Tomes & Tea series. Our sapphic adventurers must navigate the ultimate maelstrom – their own wedding!
Kianthe and Reyna are finally ready to walk down the aisle. This feels so right, but their plans are going all wrong. Pirates crowd the town, Kianthe’s estranged parents invited themselves, the baby dragons are causing mayhem – and they might run out of tea. Yet the truth overshadows everything . . . for their wedding has nothing to do with marriage, and everything to do with overthrowing the vicious Queen Tilaine.
But the Queendom’s secret heir would rather manage a hive of bees or study city planning than take the throne. As the big day nears and the coup unravels, Kianthe and Reyna must rely on each other and their friends to survive the experience. Six days until they say ‘I do’. Six days until the Realm changes for ever . . .

A marvellous continuation of the series filled with puns, dragons and lots of different kinds of love. It was wonderful to dive back into the world and after this ending I'm impatiently awaiting the fourth book!

Dragons (more specifically, baby dragons!), politics, friendship, romance, intrigue, pirates and tea! This amazing fantasy series has everything you could possibly want from cosy fantasy.
I absolutely loved this story, I don’t know how but every instalment is better than the last. I’m so excited to see how it all turns out in the next, and final book.

Such a fun series with a great mixture of cosy vibes, adventure and banter!
We join Reyna, Kianthe and their friends as they prepare for the wedding of the generation, their own! With a plot to shake up the Queendom, can they pull it off without a hitch?
It was nice to dive back in to Reyna and Kianthes world, seeing how they continue to build themselves a home and surround themselves with people who love them (my found-family-loving-heart beats for their story) The new characters we encountered were a solid addition to the family and I look forward to seeing more of them. Normally I don't like too many characters in a story (I struggle to keep up!) but Rebecca creates characters that serve a purpose, fit well and who youreally want to see more of.
As always it was a fluid read with Rebecca's writing. I can't wait for what will inevitably be a beautiful finale!
Tea You at the Altar is released on March 20th. My thanks to NetGalley and @panmacmillan for the early access.

There are very few books that when I hear of their release date I get excited but this is definitely a book to be excited for. Having read A Pirates life for Tea I have to admit I didn't enjoy it as You can't Spell Treason without Tea but boy did this next chapter bring the joy back. Picking up whete APLFT left off this was just an amazing free flowing continuation and never left you confused about what happened in the previous book. All your favourite characters are back and without giving too much away are in for a roller coaster of a ride to bring peace to the land.....my love for this series has just grown and I'm going to be so sad whe the journey finishes. No doubt that thisbis a five star read and yet again i wait patiently for the last instalment ..

Rebcca is such an accomplished author and this book demonstrates that this gift is only getting better. Written beautifully with characters you care so much about, it is a brilliantly constructed story.

Once again Rebecca Thorne has executed one of the best books I will read all year (and it's only January!). I loved being back with Rain and Key and the folks of Tawney, plus all the friends we made along the way. I cannot wait for the next installment to see what's going to happen next.

This was a perfect instalment to the Tomes and Tea series, I've loved each instalment of this series more and more and I cannot find any fault in this book. It gave the exact cosy vibes I needed; from the development of the overall plot, along with seeing more of the side characters and the dragons was great and I can't wait to read book four when it's released.

The wondrous conclusion (?) of this deceptively cosy world that Thorne has invited us into.
I could genuinely read a thousand more snapshots, chapters or snippets of the future of our two lovable leads, their lives and the future of the realm!

I must say, I think this book is the one I enjoyed the most inthe series. It is funny, tender, with great political intrigue and quite a lot of things happening on different side while remaining emotionaly satisfying
I love this series. So so so much. It’s like a warm hug
I love the puns, the rep, the characters, the townspeople, the dragons. I just love it all.

I couldn't sleep and figured a chapter or two of a cosy fantasy might help. Picked this up. Next I knew, it was 4 AM.
Cosy fantasy where the stakes are too high to match the vibes are a bit of a pet peeve of mine. This one definitely has ridiculously high stakes for a cosy, but it's so good I just didn't care. It's funny and kind and joyful, and my favourite one of the series.
Kianthe and Reyna are getting married in Tawney, and all the best characters from books 1 and 2 are invited (as well as some new ones). Their relationship remains the healthiest one in fiction. There's wedding planning, pirates, politicking and puns, and I didn't know I needed a teenage griffon hanging out with baby dragons but I really did. Could have done without the cliffhanger though - nothing cosy about that.
I've read a few really good books, but this is my favourite of 2025 so far (I know it's only 08/01 but that's not the book's fault). 10/10, would recommend to everyone and their dog. Looking forward to the last book in this quartet!
Many thanks to Pan MacMillan for letting me read an eARC of this through Netgalley!

In the 3rd book of the Tomes and Tea series, the Mage of the Ages Kianthe and former Queensguard Reyna have returned to their hometown Tawney to plan their wedding. But under the surface, a coup is brewing (pun intended) - and all the while, baby dragons are wreaking havoc all over town.
Naturally, wonderfully cozy chaos ensues.
As a person on the aroace spectrum, I usually stay away from all things romance. Not when it comes to Tomes and Tea. I fkn LOVE these books and just when I think I can't enjoy them more - Rebecca Thorne brings in yet another character that resonates with me even better. It's like she has taken a peek at my brain and just put all my favourite things on paper.
Tea You at the Altar has adventure, intrigue, board games, beekeeping, mystery, crocheting, fighting, found family, and so much more! I simply wanted to devour this book, and basically had to force myself to read slower and truly savour every delicious chapter. I cannot wait for the fourth and final installment of this series to be published, so I can read them all in a row over and over again!

Huge thank you to Pan Macmillan for making this book available through NetGalley. An even bigger thank you to Rebecca Thorne for writing it.
All opinions are my own.

Tea You at the Altar by Rebecca Thorne is a masterpiece! I totally recommend everyone to read this book as fast as they can because it's really good and the characters are fantastic.

I adored this as much as I did the first book in the series! Perfect continuation of the story, the same wonderful cozy vibes and wonderful story telling. I cannot wait for the next one!

Another instalment on the cosy series….this time a little more like an adventure with friends than curling up for a brew with them. A great read!

Thanks to NetGalley and Publisher for providing ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Firstly, Rebecca has best Dedications, here take a look:
To anyone who thinks a relationship like Kianthe and Reyna’s isn’t “realistic,” but secretly wants it so badly it hurts . . . I know the feeling. And I can assure you, somewhere in the world, there is a pretty person who will bake you cookies and buy you swords and fight your dragons. Never give up.
Frankly, I enjoyed this book more than the 1st two. Kianthe and Reyna are getting married in 7 days and that have so much pre-wedding preparation to do. Can they get married that easily when they're hosting friends, family, lords, politicians, pirates, baby dragons, baby griffin and who not?
Best cozy fantasy to read curling in a sofa with tea.

I would like to thank the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read and honestly review an advanced reader’s copy of this book.
This series never misses, and the third book is just as strong as the first two!
I loved reuniting with Reyna, Kianthe, and their wonderfully eclectic friends. This time, they’re balancing wedding planning… and, you know, casually plotting a coup against the Queen.
No big deal!
One of my favorite things about this series is Reyna and Kianthe’s incredibly healthy communication. They handle conflict with care, putting in the effort to understand each other while also giving space when needed. It’s so refreshing to read.
I can’t wait for the final book!

Rebecca Thorne's "Tea You at the Altar" is the captivating third installment in the journey of beloved couple Kianthe and Reyna, as they prepare to tie the knot. With their wedding just a week away, the atmosphere is lively, especially with playful baby dragons frolicking in Tawney.
This charming book is possibly my favorite in the series so far. I adore witnessing the growth of each character, particularly Reyna and Kianthe, whose authentic and relatable relationship continues to blossom. Their open communication, occasional misunderstandings, and unwavering support for each other make their bond feel genuinely heartfelt.
The story is filled with unexpected secrets and life-changing moments, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed. The cliffhanger ending has left me eagerly anticipating the next installment.
The audiobook narration by Jessica Threet is outstanding, with her distinctive voices for each character adding depth and warmth to the story.

Tea You at the Altar is the third book in the Tomes & Tea series. I adore this cozy fantasy series so much and the clever puns in the titles always make me chuckle. The story follows Reyna and Kianthe as they plan their wedding while also dealing with dragons and pirates. Rebecca Thorne's writing is so much fun to read and the story keeps getting better with each installment. These books are such heartwarming cosy reads and can't wait to read the next installment. I highly recommend picking up this series if you're looking for the perfect blend of coziness and action. Thanks to Netgalley and Pan Macmillan for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A wonderful ongoing story for Kianthe and Reyna this time they are walking down the aisle but also to see if they can usurp the current Queen and replace her with her sister that has been found in another part of the Queendom. Dragon babies are now flying around Tawney during preparations for the festivities too.
A mixture of adventure, romance and humour this series is great to read. I’m now looking forward to book 4 I need more of this story all the characters are so fun to read.

I love this series! Every book has managed to combine cosy settled happy couple vibes with fantasy adventure and surprising twists. It was so much fun to see the development of the characters we had already met in the first two books and how that then fed back into the plot. The plot itself again was very clever and twisted in all the best ways. I also have to say the way that the lgbtqia+ representation is just embedded through is soothing in a way that I didn't know I needed. The fact that at no point does anyone say anything nasty or treat someone as less on introduction and the acceptance of pronouns on introduction casually without needing justification or smartass comment is just so refreshing.
I wasn't expecting the baby dragons to have hatched already and to be causing mayhem (completely adorably) and for Ponder to have grown so much. I really hope we find out what happens with all of their siblings in the next book because the only thing better then what we have now would be more of them!!!
I have loved every book in this series and have bought the special editions from broken bindings I definitely recommend these books to anyone that wants a fun fantasy adventure to read.
I read an arc of this book through netgalley

Do you love a wedding? I absolutely love attending other people’s weddings but, 10 years later I still remember just how much planning and organisation went into my (our) wedding – a lot! Despite that as soon as I heard about Tea You at the Altar, the 3rd book in the Tomes and Tea series, of course I had to grab my invitation and attend !
The Tomes and Tea series (yes, you really do need to read books 1 and 2,) follows the (mis)adventures of the Mage of the Ages Kianthe, and former Queensguard Reyna who following the development of their romance are now in the midst of planning their wedding…if only, it was that simple. Once again Rebecca Thorne has taken us back to Tawney, where we find Kianthe and Reyna in their happy little world of tea, love and books but, of course, nothing ever stays quiet for them!
From the mayhem and chaos of the baby dragons, and I thought puppies were a menace! To organising a wedding, wedding gift secrets, and the small matter of finding a lost heir, and organising a coup…it’s no wonder that Kianthe and Reyna are a little stressed. And I haven’t even mentioned the colour scheme challenges!
I love this series, it’s not spicy, it’s not overly dramatic, it’s just good, cosy, punny, fun, mixed with good old fashioned love, a little adventure and intrigue, and great tea, books and the occasional boardgames. Mix in a truly adorable found family vibe, great friendships, and the cutest baby dragons, and I’m in cosy fantasy heaven. The only complaint I have is that ending – are you trying to give me heart failure? Here I was thinking this was the last book in the series and there’s a 4th! Of course, I absolutely need it now but, re-reading books 1 to 3 will just have to suffice…I’m always here…”if you need me.”
Thank you so much Pan Macmillan for sharing the arc with me in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Kianthe and Reyna are days away from their wedding day. The whole town is working towards creating the wedding of the century. Now just add a few baby dragons, a coup to overthrow Queen Tilaine, Kianthe's parents and her childhood friend, the dastardly Pirate Dreggs and his crew,... Well, they have made plans, so what could possibly go wrong?
I enjoyed this more than the second book in the series. Maybe because the plot was set in Tawney? Anyway, I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the next/last one in the series.

Tea You At The Altar by Rebecca Thorne Review
With mischievous baby dragons, estranged parents, political intrigue and a whirlwind of wedding planning. The third book in the Tomes & Tea series, follows our fave tea shop owners as they tie the knot, and navigate a plot to overthrow Reyna’s tyrannical former boss, Queen Tilaine. And I must say it’s my favourite instalment soo far!
Firstly, I do have to warn that action-wise this was a little calmer in tone than the swashbuckling events of A Pirate’s Life For Tea. But, the character development, pun heavy humour and general cosiness was unmatched (despite the stakes being soo much higher) — and gave me Legends & Lattes meets The Princess Bride vibes that I absolutely ate up with gusto!
The in depth, character driven focus was once again utterly incredible and I loved getting to delve deeper into the backstories of some of my fave characters. But especially Kianthe, whose estranged parents give us an interesting glimpse into her childhood — and also that marvellously chaotic personality of hers, which we’ve all come to love soo much.
I also enjoyed seeing Reyna in her element, taking charge and charming all the guests and keeping everyone fairly content (Kianthe’s parents and childhood bestie included.)
But, I have to say Ponder (Reyna’s baby griffon) and her humorous rivalry with baby dragons, Gold Coin and Pill Bug, really did a great job at nearly stealing the show. Their antics were the perfect comic relief and, paired with Kianthe’s unbridled enthusiasm for the baby dragons — helped keep the tone fairly light, right up to the wedding itself (and that shocking cliffhanger ending.)
Oh, and did I mention the Dastardly Pirate Dreggs makes a fabulous return too?! Along with a few new (but very pivotal to the plot) faces. Their (Dreggs) adventurous and rather surprising past, had me more invested than any drama filled, reality TV show ever could and I’m honestly still in awe over all the revelations. I won’t go into to details for fear of spoilers, but I will say, I need a spin-off series following all of their antics ASAP.
Overall, another wonderfully cosy and satisfying instalment, that surpassed all my expectations. All I need now is a copy of Alchemy and A Cup of Tea and I’ll be eternally gratified.
Also, a huge thank you to BookBreak UK for the proof and my stop on the socials tour.

I enjoyed the first two books in this series but this one outshines them both.
I love the characters, the cosiness and the dragons. Ponder makes me smile every time she's mentioned and it's good to see Reyna with her found family.
A secondary title could be a Coup of Tea. A puntastic (thank you Kianthe) story of love, family drama and treason with a heavy dose of tea and cake.
I look forward to reading the next one soon.
I received an advanced copy of this ebook via NetGalley. There was no obligation to leave a review. My rating and review is wholly my own.
