Description
He just wanted to know what it felt like to commit a murder…but now, will one kill be enough?
The Wolf He Feeds plunges readers into the twisted mind of a different kind of killer. He could be your neighbor, a co-worker, someone standing next to you in line at the grocery store. He’s not a monster. He’s just a man driven by a dark curiosity…or so he tells himself.
The plan was simple—get in, kill, and get out—and it all went smoothly…until it didn’t.
When a night meant for one calculated murder spirals into something darker, he awakens a hunger he never expected. Fueled by a thrill he can’t resist, he sets out to kill again. Only this time, he adopts the methods of a long-forgotten serial killer, sending the police on a maddening chase for a ghost.
Detective Beck Lawson is locked in a race against time as she hunts a shadowy predator, leaving the police tangled in clues that blur the line between the old killer and the new. As the body count rises, the true puppet master lurks behind the scenes, feeding off the chaoshe’s unleashed.
Twisted, gripping, and relentless, The Wolf He Feeds is a psychological thriller where every clue leads deeper into a web of deception and manipulation. Readers are led through a labyrinth of intrigue and suspense, where each revelation exposes the darkest depths of human nature.

This was a strong third entry in the Barclay Griffith series, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from the previous two books. It was written perfectly to tell the story and had that psychological thriller element that I was hoping for. The characters continued to feel like they were supposed to and enjoyed getting into this world. Brandon Hughes has a strong writing style and can’t wait for more.
This was such a good book. I absolutely enjoyed it and look forward to reading other books by this author in the future. Great writing and wonderful storyline.
He just wanted to know what it felt like to commit a murder…but now, will one kill be enough?! Ooooh great read! This book was nothing like I thought it would be! I was thinking maybe a wolf involved?! But no!! It was definitely a chilling thriller!! It had great suspense, intriguing, action, gruesome murders, mystery, a fantastic who done it and some very chilling moments! The story was very interesting and kept me glued to my kindle! I highly recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
The Wolf we Feed is a crime thriller that is explosive right from the start. We follow Detective Barclay and his team in their attempts to catch a serial killer. From cold cases and cop shootings to meth labs, this case turns in to a complex spiderweb of murders.
I loved this. Fast paced and twisty, this book kept my attention. I loved the chapters from the killer’s perspective and the cat and mouse between them and the police.
The chapters were short and engaging leading to “just one more chapter…” Cleverly written and kept me guessing.
Fans of Dexter will enjoy this one.
Many thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for my advanced copy.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this book!!
I LOVED this book! It was a bit slow in the beginning but then boom I was hooked!! I finished it in one sitting! My first by this author but will not be my last!!
Thank you for the opportunity to preview The Wolf He Feeds. This is an another fantastic book by Brandon Hughes. I luved the Red Room and his other books. This is a series but also a standalone book. A serial killer is born and his blood lust is in full force. He has his prey and he is prepared. He is also able to avoid the police. The police investigation finds clue’s related to older cold cases but they were over 25 years ago. The small town with returning DA Barclay Griffin return to solve a murderer.
The investigation is continuing and clues are being used to make sure they go in a certain direction. Who is responsible for the killings? The police have their hands full and they don’t have any suspects but plenty of evidence that they are trying to tie up. But while they are searching for the killer the bodies are piling up.
Plenty of twists in this novel, great characters and solid plot. This is really good! 5 stars
I love when the plot in the middle of the book seems totally unrelated but in the end goes together lika a hand and glove. Nice pace and good characters. Enjoyable!

Get in, kill, and get out—and it all went smoothly…until it didn’t.
After one kill a hunger is awakened in him. He sets out and kills again. He adopts the methods of a serial killer from years previously. This sends the detective on the case into a whirl of misdirection.
The Wolf He Feeds is a psychological thriller where every clue leads deeper into a web of deception and manipulation.
What a page turner couldn't put it down.
The wolf he feeds is a psychological thriller, a real who done it, just when you think you have it worked out you realise you dont. And a little interesting twist with the press.
An author to look out for.

He just wanted to know what it felt like to commit a murder…but now, will one kill be enough?
I picked this book solely on the description, I had not heard of this series or the author but was willing to give it a shot based on it being something I thought it would enjoy. I was right. This story has a lot of moving parts and from the beginning I thought I had figured it out. I thought this book was more about the chase and catching the killer than figuring out who the killer was. Boy was I wrong. All the way up to 90% I was going to give this book 4 stars for being entertaining and well written. The last 10% of this book is what catapulted it to 5 stars. Multiply twists at the end a possible opening to follower the killer into the next book? I am a big fan. It has been a while since I could not put a book down and wanted to stay up all night reading. This book really got me thinking because the killer is your average joe. Your neighbor, a co-worker, someone standing next to you in line at the grocery store. He’s not a monster. He’s just a man driven by a dark curiosity…or so he tells himself. I really enjoyed seeing into the minds of the detectives and the killer as they played cat and mouse. This is a must read for 2025. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

He just wanted to know what it felt like to commit a murder…but now, will one kill be enough?
I really enjoyed The Wolf He Feeds! It kept me thoroughly entertained and I really liked being in both the killers POV and the detective’s POV. I wouldn’t necessarily say this is ‘thrilling’ but it was suspenseful! It was very easy to binge (I think I read 60% of this in one sitting) and easy to follow along. I would give this book a 3.5/4 star rating, leaning more towards a 4 star. I can’t spoil the ending but I did not enjoy the reveal of the original serial killer. I felt like that was just thrown into the chapter and the explanation was rushed through. Otherwise, I highly recommend it
