Description
Set in the 1950s, Sammy is a dreamy loner, attempting to come to terms with the death of his father. When sorting through his fathers belongings, he comes across an old book which, unbeknown to Sammy, holds incredible magical powers that have long been forgotten.
It is not long before the wicked Queen Obeah learns that Sammy has possession of the magic book and sets about trying to retrieve it at any cost. In his quest to come to terms with his new-found magical powers, Sammy is aided by his friend Mog and the mysterious Lucy. Eventually he finds himself face-to-face with Queen Obeah in a volcanic confrontation at Forge Mountain…
"When I was a teacher, it was a great pleasure to see the enraptured look on childrens faces as they listened to an enthralling story," comments Duncan. He goes on to say, "The original inspiration for Footprints came from the memories I had with my grandfather; he used to have what he called The Brown Book which he claimed held to
answers to anything and everything."
A childrens story filled with powerful, visual imagery and authentic, credible characters, Footprints has a stimulating sense of inspiration and possibility. "I found the idea for Footprints in an old box on a dusty shelf, broken into pieces like a jigsaw and I felt it was my duty to put it together," explains Duncan.
