Earth The Improbable Utopia is a book that challenges the pessimistic vision of what is going to happen to humanity in the future, proposing a path that far from being far away we could reach in a very short time, R.J. Fidalgo has a critical approach to social, political and cultural structures. Fidalgo has a critical approach to social, political and cultural structures, he tells us that all these factors have led us to a point of global crisis, but one of the most interesting things about this book is that it has very optimistic approaches which gives us hope for a positive transformation, The author calls on everyone to reflect on the role we play in the current reality, and suggests that we all propose to have a better future and emphasizes that it only depends on our awareness and ability to learn from the various traditions and beliefs of the world, reading this book makes us reflect that we must all commit ourselves to building a better future.

The world is what we make it—and unfortunately, we haven’t made it a very nice place. We seem trapped in a loop where we kill and feed off each other, and the odds of this ending well appear slim. The author presents examples worth following taken from the variois societies and cultures around the earth and confronted many of the issues that plague our societies. The main thought is based on us taking a new approach to how we care for our earth and the need to recognize the opportunity window for us to take this turn towards a better future. This book was interesting, and I think there are great ideas in here that we can utilize even on a small, local scale.
