Alice Sluckin, OBE is Chair and Founder of the Selective Mutism Information and Research Association (SMIRA). She was a senior psychiatric social worker in a clinical setting for many years. Both have written widely, Alice on selective mutism and other conditions and Rae on linguistic pragmatics and related issues in journals and books. The editors both live in Leicester, UK.
