This book was a rollercoaster. I was mad, I was sad, I was angry, I was emotional, I was so freaking FRUSTRATED. And I have to give it out to the author for making me FEEL so much. Although I hate third pov in ROMANCE books, this was an exception. Something about this book made it hard to put it down. I really enjoyed this book! My goodreads review is already up and I'll post one on my bookstagram soon too!

Well I just flew through this book. I’ve been in major slump and this was just what I needed. I loved the romantic suspense with a touch of mystery. I was legit on the edge of my seat the entire time. The characters were well written and I enjoyed every second.

Got me crying and giggling. Kate Callaghan has an amazing writing style and the relationships between the mcs were well developed. Loved the grief, the way it was handled. And the romance..i’m still kicking my feet. I’ll read other books from her for sure !

The book follows Phoebe, an artist who has finally had her big break in the art world.
After her exhibition, she plans on surprising her fiancé, Cillian the lead singer of Brothers of Anarchy, at his show in Munich.
She definitely surprises him.
After they end up in a car accident in which he dies, the media targets her.

Axel, the drummer of Brothers of Anarchy, he’s been in love with Phoebe from the moment he saw her but soon realized she was off limits.
After the accident, he just wants to be there for her in anyway he can.

This book had love after death, suspense and all the feels of grief.
In that grief, though, we see the band and Phoebe really work it out together and being them closer than ever!

Kate Callaghan really showed how love can be found again even if it wasn’t the love you were expecting.

I liked that the book was linked to the first book I read by Kate: Ms Perfectly Fine. I really like the genre where there is a little murder mystery along with the romance.

Alex really has the grumpy protector personality. I felt so sad that he was conflicted over dating Phoebe.

I'm sorry, but Phoebe is such a badass. After she experiences the first act of hate, she just goes after them instead of cowering and not doing anything about it.

Loved this! Was not expecting it to open as it did but wow it really sucked me in. The first few chapters start very slow paced but just read on and it paced up a bit Flew through this book, really enjoyed it.

The writing was simple and easy to understand. The storyline was written really well, I really liked the relationship the FMC had with the band, the support they’d all give to each other. Apart from the whole hiding the cheating thing.. idk that just pissed me off. personally if u care about someone you’d tell them not just hide it let them be made a mug of.
I did really like the chemistry between Phoebe and Axel it was cute ngl.

The big twist mystery I did see it coming miles off, just had a feeling it was going that way but nonetheless it’s still a good read. When i see dead lover trope it automatically changes my opinion if I’ll read the book or not but I am glad i read this one. The author did a really great job in making you feel so many different emotions throughout this book. One thing that confuses me is I’m like is this set in England? Ireland? Like I don’t think it states really 😬 unless I’ve missed this but I felt so confused about this hahahah

I loved that this was a romantic suspense. It kept me hooked until the very end! Thank you to netgalley for sending me a copy of this book for review. After receiving an arc of Kates christmas book and absolutely loving it I knew I had to request this one too. While I didn't love this one as much as I felt it was quite insta lovey which isn't my favourite it was still an enjoyable read. It deals with topics of grief and from my experience it gives a good depiction on different people's way of dealing with grief.

This was my first Kate Callaghan book, so I wasn’t fully sure what to expect, but I can say she’s earned a spot on my authors to read more of list.
This book gave a great suspense feel with romance sprinkled in. I tried putting myself in Phoebe’s shoes of being in a 10 year relationship, that ended in more than one ways. How one navigates that grief, on top of also being under the paps spotlight and having your own business and become under attack. Phoebe never wavered and there were a few times I gave her a mental high five for how she grew throughout the book and used her voice to not back down and defend those she loved. Watching the connection and protection that Axel offered and how he was there every step of the way, and the slow burn of that couple throughout the book was done beautifully.

Loved reading the awesome and amazing romance story. Phoebe is devastated by Gillian's death and betrayal, but someone is wanting Phoebe gone, and Axel, another band member wants to protect Phoebe. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting love story.

After her longterm fiancee dies, Phoebe is at a bit of a lost end. She and Cillian were together since childhood and her life really revolved around their art: her painting and his music. In the chaos of publicity, Phoebe moves in with his band, Brothers of Anarchy, and has to deal with her feelings for the band's drummer, Axel.

I love supporting Irish writers and was really excited that (with some detours), this book was set in Dublin, a place with a flourishing arts scene. So many of the connections and relationships in the book felt very authentically messy and Irish. Phoebe's brother, Nick, has to navigate his loyalty to Phoebe as well as her fiancee, Cillian, his childhood best friend, while Phoebe has to sometimes swallow her feelings to support her mother in law. It's a dynamic that isn't often portrayed in romance novels, but felt real to Irish life. I also very much felt like I vicariously lived through Phoebe's righteous anger (who hasn't sometimes wanted to destroy the car of someone who wronged us?) without having to deal with the consequences and I knew I loved her best friend, Lena, the minute Lena made it clear she hated morning yoga (same, girl).

I was very proud that I guessed who the culprit was before the ending and the one thing I wish we had gotten more of was some specificity about the Irish arts scene - hope to see more in future Callaghan books

Great novel! The characters were well developed, and engaging. Cheating, lies, deceit and trauma. I was slightly disappointed that the entire band knew about the cheating and did not give the female character a heads up; especially since one of the band members was her brother. The process of healing, a crazy stalker and new relationships kept me eagerly turning pages. Well done!

Phoebe finds out her fiance is cheating on her right before he is killed in a car accident that put her in the hospital. When she gets out, she goes to his band mates to help her escape the media storm that descends upon her. When she starts falling for his band mate, Axel, Phoebe must decide if dating another rockstar is worth it.
Opinion
This is a very well written book that kept me compelled. I was able to finish it in a short period of time (which I haven't been able to do in months.)
As the story continued, I did ask myself why Phoebe stayed with her fiance for so long. I felt Axel was a much better match for her (but isn't that the point of writing them together?) This is a great read for any adult romance lover who needs a quick dopamine fix.

As someone new to Kate Callaghan’s work, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Not Another Rockstar absolutely won me over! The Irish setting immediately stood out, adding a fresh and unique backdrop to this heartfelt and engaging story.


One of my favourite touches was the small playlist at the start of the book, it set the tone perfectly. As I read, I found myself imagining the kind of music the band might play, and it added another layer of immersion to the story. A more vivid sense of the band’s musical style would’ve been a bonus, but it was fun creating my own soundtrack along the way!


The characters are where this book truly shines. While the focus is on Phoebe and Axel’s story, their relationships with the rest of the band were just as compelling. The dynamics between the characters were so well-written that I couldn’t help but hope for spin-offs featuring the other band members. Phoebe was such a refreshing FMC who’s fierce, determined, and far from the usual “whiny” trope we sometimes see. She had real fight, and I loved her for it!


The pace of the book is steady, quick enough to keep you hooked without feeling rushed. And that twist? Wow. I did not see it coming! It was a moment that took the story to another level and left me genuinely surprised.


I also have to mention the little details, like the adorable chapter art and the dedication, both gave the book so much personality.


All in all, Not Another Rockstar was a fantastic read. If you love emotionally driven stories with strong characters and just a touch of romance, this one’s for you. I’ll definitely be looking out for more from Kate Callaghan!

I liked the premise of the story. The mix of romance and suspense is what drew me in, and I couldn’t wait to read the book. The beginning started with a bang, and the stalker plotline had me hooked and I couldn't wait for the reveal. I loved seeing Axel and Phoebes’ growing connection/relationship as well as the found family aspect between the characters. Overall, the book was fast-paced and easy to read. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes romances filled with drama and a side of suspense.

I was thoroughly engrossed in this gripping, intense novel. Not Another Rock Star is an intense combination of a love story and also a mystery. Each page dripped with emotion—anger, fear, passion, revenge, forgiveness, jealousy, and love. I couldn’t put it down, compelled to read whenever and wherever I could. When I picked up Not Another Rockstar I was expecting another light-hearted romance, and I could not have been more wrong. While the romance in the book still managed to hit the spot of what I was looking for, I was also pleasantly surprised by the way Kate Callaghan explored the grief of the group of characters, going beyond the two main characters, and how their dynamic changes after losing someone so close to them.

I was gripped by the mystery and suspense running through the plot, and I enjoyed having something else to focus on as well as the two main characters building a relationship, which can get a little tired at times. Trying to solve a mystery at the same time as rebuilding their lives gave the characters more layers which I appreciated, and gives the reader something to think about along the way, with the resolution only really coming in the last couple of chapters as a bit of a surprise, although this did feel a bit rushed at the end.

I do feel like some characters weren't really necessary and they sometimes felt a bit muddled, especially at the halfway mark when it seems everyone is involved at once. The writing style didn't blow me away, but I did find this book incredibly easy to read, and I binged it within a day which says a lot in my eyes.

This was an hell of a book. got me on a Roller Coster. The tension between them was perfection and I was addicted from chapter one.

I really enjoyed this book! Phoebe is an up and coming artist engaged to rockstar Cillian of Brothers of Anarchy. You go along on the roller coaster ride of happiness, sorrow, fear and determination. I’m definitely a fan of the two points of view because it lets you get to know the characters and understand their actions.

I absolutely loved this book! The chemistry between the main characters were insane, and I giggled and kicked my feet several times! This was such a good reading experience!

A lovely story mixed with tragedy. This was a lovely book, that dealt with some heavy topics. I felt for the FMC and what she had to go through but having the band by her side did really help. I did struggle to read this book due to it being in 3rd person, that’s personal preference though and would still recommend based on the writing and storyline.

I’ll admit, I actually didn’t read anything about this book before I dived in so everything was a surprise to me and I would highly recommend you do the same!

I gasped quite a bit, and laugh so loud I gave my dog a fright. It seems that I accidentally jumped into 2 books in a row that had the subject of grief in it. I guess I was expecting single girl, meets a rock start, retires to fight it, ends up together, breaks up, gets back together but this book surprised me and I loved it!

It really highlights how crazy fandoms can get, and really I don’t most of it felt too far fetched either.

I was very invested in solving the mystery, and loved that there was no third act break up. I particularly enjoyed how there was no shaming the romance that occurred in this book as well!

I would absolutely recommend this book!

I enjoyed this romantic suspense novel! I had read my first Kate Callaghan a few months ago and really enjoyed it so I was thrilled to find her latest and devoured it! I also appreciated this didn't follow the typical formula in many romance novels. I was kinda waiting for it and was nervous it would take away from an otherwise great book. It didn't and I was happy...I also think that's where the suspense aspect really helped to give this book a little more in terms of plot.

Rockstar life/life of fame is most definitely not for me, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy reading about it! Phoebe catches her longtime friend/turned boyfriend/newly turned fiancé in the act with his makeup artist. A tragic accident quickly ensues and he is out of the picture and Phoebe quickly finds herself in the arms of another bandmate who has cared deeply for Phoebe for a long time from the sidelines. I guarantee some will review this book and say that happened to fast, but there really is no timeline even in real life. For the sake of keeping the book moving, this was a great decision Callaghan made.

The suspense part involved Phoebe being a target of someone...a fan maybe?...who felt Phoebe should have died versus her fiancé, Cillian. As her romance with Axel blossoms, the attacks toward Phoebe increase. I figured this one out ..I'm mostly a miss when it comes to whodunnits, but regardless it didn't make the book any less enjoyable plus I didn't know the full motivation.

This book had it all! Heartbreak, love, and suspense. It was a quick and easy read with great banter. This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it!

This book had everything I love in a rock star romance—drama, passion, and a bit of mystery to keep things interesting. At first, I wasn’t sure about the third-person POV, but it ended up working for this story. I loved the chemistry between Phoebe and Axel, and how protective he was of her. The mystery surrounding her stalker added an extra layer of suspense, and the twist at the end actually surprised me! Overall, a very entertaining read that kept me hooked until the end.

Really good story. Kate callaghan has found a way to make a romance/thriller mix again, as she did in ms. perfectly fine (whose characters showed up by the way and i loved it). I really got into this story and was on the edge of my seat throughout. Around the middle, some parts felt a bit dragged out too long, but then the ending was so good, so honestly all is well.

I can’t say that I have read many rockstar romances, but this one was wonderful. The author is one that I really enjoy, so I knew I had to take a chance on this one. A huge thank you to the author, Kate Callaghan’s, and the publisher, BooksGoSocial, for a chance to read and review this book early.

Although Callaghan’s is a hit or miss author for me, when they hit, it is amazing and captivating. I loved the Story of Phoebe and Axel. And the suspense throughout was really good. There were a few areas that dragged a little, but overall I really enjoyed the book. I truly hope that we will see more books with the characters from this one as I think I seen sparks for things to come woven throughout.

I am a huge Kate Callaghan fan! I enjoyed how fleshed out the characters were and how the relationship with Phoebe and Axel built up and boiled over.

My only criticism is that the dialogue is very “therapized”. Real people don’t talk that way, not everyone speaks like they are therapists and have insane empathy.

I always love Kate Callaghan books and " Not Another Rockstar" did not disappoint. When Phoebe decides to surprise her fiancé, Cillian at his concert in Dublin, she finds him with another women.
The next morning Cillian wants to apologize and talks her into getting in his car. He is still drunk and there is an accident. and Cillian gets killed and Phoebe is injured. The media targets Phoebe and says it’s her fault. But what really happened to cause the accident. An ending I didn’t see coming.

This was a very well written book and I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. The storyline kept me interested and at no point was the ending of the story given away by previous events in the book. The character development was perfect and at no point did the story feel rushed. Great book that I'll be recommending to some of my students and to my coworkers and friends!
