Description
Things finally seem to be looking up for police officer Annie Graham. After a tumultuous couple of years, she is settling into a normal, happy life. Her wedding is fast approaching, and her fiancé Will has found a forgotten but beautiful little cottage for them to make their own.
But as Annie begins to have increasingly vivid nightmares, she realises their new home may not be as unoccupied as it first seemed. Her arrival has stirred up the ghosts of a tragic past, and she needs to put them to rest once and for all.
But while Annie’s distracted, another threat is emerging from the shadows. And if she doesn’t act fast, her days may be numbered…

The newest book in the Anne Graham series has Anne believing that she has left the ghosts of her past behind her, where they belong. She has a lovely new cottage, free of memories and (hopefully) ghosts. But a long ago tragedy has left its mark on Anne’s new home and something is going to make its presence known.
Phifer’s books are always delightful, a combination cozy mystery and ghost story that readers are sure to enjoy
If you haven’t read any of the books in this series yet, you don’t know what you’re missing! Helen Phifer’s heroine is Annie Graham, who lives and works as a police officer in the North West of England and this is the third book in the series. Don’t let that put you off if you haven’t read the others yet as it reads well as a standalone, too.
Annie is going to marry Will and together they purchase a cottage which seems ideal for them though it does need some work doing to it before they can move in. Both of them look on this as a new start, a move away from the spirits and demons she hopes she has also left behind - but has she? This is a spooky tale with three story threads running through it, intertwined with artistry of a brilliant author. Admittedly only two of these threads will be resolved in this book and the book ends on a cliffhanger, leaving you wanting to read the next book in the series as soon as possible!
A chilling tale which keeps the reader enthralled and on the edge of their seat. Highly recommended!
Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley too for letting me read this book in exchange for this, an honest review.
I have not read any other books in this series, but the cover was so pretty it caught my attention. This is a combination ghost story and mystery. Annie is very likeable and the setting is pleasant . even though I was not familiar I had no problem following along. The ghost in this story in indeed creepy and scary.I will know go back and read the others in this series
