"With a great play on words and subtext, my books are humorously written to entertain adults as well as children," explains Ann. "My first book The Dandelion Who Refused to be a Weed has been trialled on lots of families and they all spontaneously said the book has so much more to offer than other children's picture books… and they cant wait to buy it! The eye-catching design just made them want to pick it up and read more!"
"I really like this book. My favourite page is where all the flower heads are in the puddle," – Elsa, 5

A delightfully illustrated book telling the story of Delores the Dandelion who can’t understand why she is called a weed as she believes she is just as beautiful as the other flowers. The book is beautifully illustrated, the story well presented and the morals that could be drawn from it are fantastic! Sometimes it isn’t how others see you but how you see yourself and behave that counts - a great lesson for young and old alike.
This book will be great for anyone trying to improve the self esteem of youngsters who see themselves as lacking in anyway compared to their peers. It values and promotes self-worth in an easily understandable manner that could be invaluable with individuals and classes alike. I highly recommend this fantastic book.
This is such a lovely book to read with a little one, my niece adored it, and it raises some very interesting topics for further discussion.
Dolores the dandelion does not consider herself to be a weed at all, and why should she with her beautiful yellow petals and soft leaves! I love her positive attitude and her excellent self-esteem is certainly something to aim for.
The illustrations are bright and wonderful, it is a really sweet and funny read, I just wish it was longer. A highly recommended children's book.
I loved the message of this book. No matter what label society/others place on us, it's all in how we see ourselves. Fantastic!
This was a beautiful, inspiring book that teaches kids not to think less of themselves and that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. Highly recommended for children!
This picture book featured lovely colorful illustrations, and is the story of a dandelion named Dolores (who fortunately was nothing like Umbridge!). This fun little story offers many lessons to children. Firstly, Dolores knows that she's considered a weed, yet believes that she is beautiful. And then when there's the looming threat of an approaching storm, she decides to help other fellow dandelions. The book also featured other flowers which children would get to learn about or recognize. Just wish it were a little longer! 💕
