Attorney Alistair Burke has gone from the necromantic frying pan that was his first major case in Madison, WI and directly into the holy fire of ritual sacrifices and the worst curse that can happen in a curse on beer.

On his way to Rhinelander to meet a client, Alistair's trip is interrupted by a sight he never expected—even with his work as a Monitor— a hodag driving a stolen beer truck.
