Description
On the windswept shores of Willet Island, some promises are meant to last forever... and some loves are impossible to forget.
Marine biologist Kate Monroe has dedicated her life to protecting the island's delicate ecosystem, finding solace in its wild beauty and the memory of her beloved father. But when wildlife photographer Ryan Carter returns after breaking her young heart all those years ago, he brings with him memories of broken promises and a love that never truly died.
Now a renowned photographer with his own scars to bear, Ryan has changed. A recent heart attack forced him to confront his mortality and the choices that led him away from the only woman he's ever loved. His return to Willet Island was meant to be temporary, just long enough to capture the island's rare shorebirds. Instead, he finds himself drawn back into Kate's world, where the past and present collide like waves against the shore.
As a catastrophic hurricane bears down on Willet Island, threatening to erase everything Kate has fought to protect, she and Ryan are forced to confront the tempest within their own hearts. With time running out and the storm closing in, they must decide whether to hold onto the past or risk everything for a second chance at love.
For fans of Nicholas Sparks and Buck Turner, a powerful story of first love, second chances, and the courage to face life's fiercest storms. The Last Promise reminds us that in nature, and in love, the most beautiful moments often come after the storm. A breathtaking tale of love, loss, and redemption that will sweep you away like the tide and leave you breathless long after the storm has passed.

this book felt like it was so much more than a romance. and it explored so many themes just from the plot points. from the jobs of our main character to the weather events. it was such a beautiful woven together book.
i loved the characters as themselves and then together. and i wanted their story to come together so much i was getting angst about it! they both needed each other so much. not in the way that its needy and dependent. but just when you feel two people can truly belong. thats what this felt like.
i liked all the parts of this book. both in the relationship moments and all the other parts too. its deep but not to heavy. it does manage to pack an emotional punch that will have you wanting more from the characters in the book, and the story youve just read.
