Description
Magic is a gift…or so the brothers were told.
For Tito and Ro, attuning to the Runestone should have been the start of a new life. Instead, it became a prison. Trapped in Atheron’s citadel, training under the watchful eyes of the Magi, they quickly realize that power comes with a price, and theirs is being shaped for something far greater than they understand.
As Tito struggles to control the untamed fury of the elements, and Ro wields illusions no one fully trusts, pieces fall out of place, and they begin to question everything they’ve been told. And the truth, buried beneath centuries of lies, threatens to destroy them both, because at the heart of everything lies a prophecy; one that whispers of betrayal, of blood, and of a fate neither of them is ready to face. Will they be Atheron’s salvation, or its ruin?
Advance Praise
"An enticing first look into what is expected to be a trilogy. Tito and Ro are exceptional characters who are easy to relate to, due to their stark contrast in demeanor, with Ro being the more lively and outspoken of the two, and Tito being the moodier "angsty" one. The magic system is unique, and seemingly a lot more dangerous than the characters know. By the end of the book, we start to realize how much higher the stakes are than the characters realize. I look forward to what's coming in book two." - J. Morris
"As a fantasy lover, this book hit all the right spots. The world-building is massively detailed, the characters are fun and interesting, and the drama peaks at several points that kept me engrossed the whole time. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of George R.R. Martin or Leigh Bardugo." - Micah Landon
