Description

A merchant’s daughter who yearns for adventure gets more than she bargained for when she falls for a broodingly handsome stranger in this saucy romantasy from the Sunday Times bestselling author of The Hurricane Wars.

As the daughter of an ambitious merchant, Guinevere’s path has been predetermined: marry into a noble house of the Dwendalian Empire, raise her family’s station, and live quietly as a lordling’s obedient wife. But Guinevere longs for a life unbounded by expectations, for freedom and passion and adventure.

Those distant dreams become a sudden reality when her caravan is beset by bandits, leaving her guards slain and Guinevere stranded alone on the dangerous Amber Road. Her only chance of survival is to travel alongside Oskar, the aloof half-orc who saved her during the attack.

Unlike Guinevere, Oskar’s path is not so set in stone. With his mother dead and his apprenticeship abandoned, all that’s left is a long, lonely walk to a land he’s never seen to find family he’s never met. The last thing he needs is a spoiled waif like Guinevere slowing him down – even if the spark between them sizzles with promise.

Despite his cold exterior, Oskar is brave and thoughtful and unlike anyone Guinevere has ever met. And while Guinevere may be sheltered, she brings out a softness in him that he has never dared to feel before. As the flames of their passion grow, they realize that soon they’ll need to choose between their expected destinations or their blossoming romance.

Written by Sunday Times bestselling author Thea Guanzon at the behest of Critical Role’s Jester Lavorre, Tusk Love brings the most romantic story on Exandrian bookshelves to life.

Tusk Love is a sweet and funny cozy romantasy that wastes no time getting into the action. It's not a long book, but it has absolutely no filler and I absolutely flew through it. I just thought it was adorable.

The FMC, Guinevere, was sheltered and innocent but not a brat, which I loved. She was aware of her position and class and was actively trying to be braver and to not be a snob! Oskar, the half-orc blacksmith, had no chance against sweet Guinevere.

Cozy, sweet and spicy, it's a really adorable story just asking to be binged!

One moment, I need to stop screaming in excitement before I can form thoughts to properly review this literary masterpiece.

I love D&D and I love Critical Role, so when I saw this book was coming out and that Thea Guanzon was writing it, I already knew that it would be a 10/10 for me. I've learned to trust my instinct on that regard. Tusk Love was as if Tangled met Tress of the Emerald Sea, but make it spicy and that is the best elevator pitch I can give you on this novel, because those are two of my favourite things. Guinevere and Oskar were the epitome of the grumpy sunshine trope, Oskar the curmudgeonly adventurer and Guinevere the sheltered and optimistic merchant's daughter. Not only did I fall in love with the main characters, but Thea Guanzon made sure I fell for the side characters too, I was so invested and rooting for everyone (except the mercenaries of course). If you love adventure and sweeping romance, I would highly recommend this book, even if you aren't familiar with Dungeons and Dragons or Critical Role, this book is something that can be enjoyed by anyone!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was AMAZING! It was such a heartwarming warming journey with the most incredible character growth. The world building and side characters were so well done and our MCs were just perfection!

I just love Guinevere and Oskar 🥰 Their relationship was so wholesome, I was giggling and kicking my feet the whole time. We praise the healthy communication trope 🙌🏼 I love how vulnerable these characters were with each other, showing that it’s okay for even big ass orcs to cry! And the way these characters changed and grew together was just *chefs kiss*. Guinevere learned to embrace and love who she truly was, becoming a strong independent woman! And Oskar learned that it’s okay to smile every now and then 😂

I simply loved everything about this book. It deserves all the star. Thea Guanzon can do no wrong 🙌🏼

But I need to know what happens next! I need more of Gwen and Oskars story as they travel to onward!

This was SO GOOD! I devoured this and loved every minute. It's so romantic and has such a cozy adventure! Plus the breaking down of ones own prejudices was such a powerful and lovely message. I think Thea Guanzon did an amazing job and i'm so grateful to have been able to read an ARC of this!

Thank you so much Del Rey for my ARC, I am so appreciative!
