Description

As European voters begin to align themselves more with ultra-right and ultra-left wing parties, this highly topical novel examines what can go wrong when a country sets out in a new political direction.

In 2084, the seriously disgruntled population of England have, in a fit of frustration, elected the super radical Reality Party to power. Billy Billington is a studetn at the Reality Party’s college. Religion is their bete noire and Billy is the party’s blue-eyed favourite. He meets Anna, a Russian girl who is a regular at London’s last (and barely tolerated) Orthodox Church. They vow not to attempt to convert each other, but embark into a relationship that is more Montague-Capulet than fairytale.

The book’s essential questions is will England, like Nazi Germany and Stalin Russia before it, survive it’s sudden political converion? When ‘The Geni’, The Reality Party leader, reads a book by ‘some bloke named Machiavelli’ and decides to try some game-changing moves, the world really begins to worry – and with good reason.

“I wrote this book many years ago and shelved it for a bit – but as England edges nearer to the situation imagined and foretold in my book, the time is fast approaching for the book to meet it’s readers!” observes John.
