Description
Sue Mackender's gutsy novel is about the four women in one mans life.
Four women, one man. Two love him. One hates him. The forth will become the mother of his child...
Sue Mackender's novel features four very different women whose parallel lives are all linked by one man; Liam Riley. Each has their own reasons for loving or hating Liam, and this makes for a gripping novel full of intrigue and twists.
"I love reading gutsy sagas, but hate unsatisfying heroines. I had the idea for this story for some time, but it was only after selling my recruitment agencies that I was inspired to write," says Sue. "Knowing Liam Riley is not actually a book about Liam, it's about the four women whose lives he touches; Joanna, Lizzie, Ava and Imogen," she adds.
Joanna's early years are blighted by abused and exploitation. After escaping a difficult past, she becomes a live-in nanny, but falls foul of Royston Farley MP, who climbs uninvited into her bed. Having fought him off, she unwittingly discovers Royston has a secret that, if revealed, will ruin his career. Joanna falls for Marcus Tierney, a gallery owner. Unable to have children they adopt a baby, Adam. But secrets from Joanna's past threaten her marriage and happiness.
Lizzie Owen is growing up in a dysfunctional family when a terrible accident leaves her at the hands of Liam Riley.
Ava and Imogen Chase are mother and daughter. Ava, a world-renowned artist, takes Liam as a lover. Imogen, who has had her sights on Liam from a young age, starts to stalk him. Her obsession becomes more sinister as time passes.
Every link in the chain of events leads straight back to one person... Liam Riley.
