Description
Single, nearing thirty and still living with his mum, a clinically depressed Andrew braves the bullied children, single mothers and other unwell people singing Nessun Dorma, to find a new love, an old ghost and a difficult decision awaiting him.
A story of music, love and mental illness, Glum is an irreverent, cynical comedy with a unique element. All of the songs Andrew performs within the story have been recorded and are available to stream or download for free at - https://soundcloud.com/glumsongs
In as much as it is a novel with a soundtrack, Glum is unique. In as much as it takes a big comical swipe at TV talent shows, it says what many people already think, but are yet to hear said so sharply. It is funny, but it is also deeply sincere and hopes to provide a more accurate portrayal of depression than the unhelpful, sometimes even harmful clichés that are all too commonly used.
