Description
Meuric is a dark fantasy novel with epic and heroic connotations. It explores the fictional world of Terit're where gods and magic exist and where an elite band of warriors, known as Knight Protectors, under the tutelage of the Conclave Council defend the people in the mortal kingdoms from the evil of the Old Gods. But when a new dark power arises the Protectorate swiftly find themselves the hunted and are quietly assassinated one-byone.
A boy has been born into the world whose very presence can defeat any god or entity. It is he all those with power wish to control. Faeder, ruler of the New Gods, obtains two visions of the future. In one, he witnesses a battle in a Kel'akh hill-fort where the enemy swarm over its defenders. In the second he sees a battle at the end of days where the New Gods and the last of humankind band together to take on the might of the Old Gods. The great god Junives watches all and is prepared to wipe the cosmos clean. He cannot allow the Dark Druid to succeed. Forbidden by the laws of magic to directly interfere and not knowing which vision was the correct path, Faeder reaches out to a warrior he saw leading the surviving forces against the darkness at the end of time.
With him he hopes to stop the destruction of the universe. But can he be trusted? For he is Meuric, former Knight Protector of Kel'akh and the only man to have turned his back on the organisation that created him. Inspired by authors such as David Gemmel, Raymond E Fiest and Robert Holdstock, this fantasy novel is suitable for teenages who enjoy dark fiction embedded with magic, fantasy and adventure.
