Behind London’s Notting Hill Gate there lies a network of pretty little streets known as Hillgate Village.

It is here that Annie comes to live with her daughter, Tamsin, when her sanctimonious husband, Henry, runs away with another woman.

But behind the polite façade, the small community’s main preoccupation is gossip, about each other’s real or imagined affairs.
