A handy little book that reminds you of the right choices to make. Full of helpful advice without being "preachy", this is a good-go-to reference book for those of us who need a gentle nudge in the right direction!

There’s a very good idea behind this book as it helps you make healthier choices when choosing snacks and between-meal nibbles when out. It’s excellent for anyone unsure about nutritional contents, especially of food and drinks that are unlabelled: café coffee and drinks, cinema snacks, cakes and other accompaniments. If you already have a fairly educated approach to food then there are unlikely to be any surprises here but it’s still handy to have everything referenced in one place.

There’s perhaps too much emphasis on dieting and ‘weight management’ rather than healthy eating but that’s a niggle of mine. Do note that nutritional contents such as calories, fat and sugar counts are generic and indicative (this isn’t a calorie counter book) rather than brand specific. So overall a handy way of making informed food choices for breakfasts, lunches and snacks on the go.

This is such a useful book! Jackie Lynch breaks everything down in a way that's easy to understand – explaining the science behind nutrition, but also providing quick-reference tips for the healthiest choices at restaurants, bars, barbecues and the cinema. I will be referring to it daily.

A book that has really opened my eyes, and been a genuine help to me. I often get worried about eating out, as although I try and maintain a healthy eating regime this inevitably goes out the window when I'm spoilt for choice by a café or restaurant menu. The 'right bite' approach is excellent in combining up-to-date science with grounded sense - the fact that a little saturated fat is actually good for you, for example. It has educated and inspired me in equal measure - I will opt for full-fat yoghurt all the time now, over "diet" low-fat ones; and will avoid too much (sugary) dried fruit!

Very handy guide on making better choices for health and diet when out and about. It's frequent mistakes in cafes, takeaways and restaurants that can unravel the best of intentions, so better information can help us without having to quarantine our meals and social lives.
