Excellent start to the series, looking forward to the continuation by other authors

Tough Justice is the first in an eight part series. It is a fast-paced read and keeps you hooked throughout. I read it in two short sittings and am anxious to get my hands on the next instalment!

This first part introduces us to Lara Grant, an FBI agent who is fresh from some seriously scary work undercover and a year in hiding, ready to work this new case. We meet her new partner Nick and the team that are handling this case. We get a gauge of what drives Lara, and a glimpse of the ghosts that haunt her.

I love the idea of what this series will bring the reader, instalments that feature the same characters but will be written by different authors. I'm definitely drawn into this exciting new thriller series and can't wait to see how it all pans out!

Enjoyed this novella which is the first in a series of stories featuring the same character. A feisty FBI agent Lara Grant comes to NYC, brought in to work on a new task force. Her back story weaves in well and we see how tough a cop she really is. I liked her partner too, Nick, and thought the story worked well with the two of them.. Will be interested to see how the series pans out with other writers taking up their parts.

Fast paced thriller with a hard hearted unlike able female FBI agent as the main character. Should I like her? No! Can I wait to read the next instalment? You bet!!

This is an interesting concept ,one story spread over 8 books written by 4 different writers.
Lara and Nick work for the FBI and are put together as partners for the first time and initially they are wary of each other .Lara has just emerged from a safe house where she has been for the past year while the trials of Moretti and his gang had been taking place. .Lara had been working under deep cover and has helped to put most of the evil Moretti crime syndicate from Chicago behind bars..Now she is back in New York ready to start again with a new team in the Crisis Management Unit but now it seems that someone from the gang knows she is back and is out to get her .
I did enjoy this first part ,the action started right from the word go and continued right through to the end leaving me hanging and wanting more .The book is full of intrigue and I enjoyed slowly getting to know Lara's and Nick's back story and wanted to hear more and how their relationship would develope .I can't wait to read the next part .

This is the first of Carla Cassidy's books I have read but I look forward to reading more. The idea of four different writers contributing 2 books each to the series intrigues me, and I look forward to reading them all.

I really liked the characters in this book, especially Lara. She is tough, with a dangerous past which is going to add lots of action to the series. The pairing of Lara and Nick is interesting as they rub one another the wrong way, but have a begrudging respect for one another.

There is plenty of action and the story is very fast paced. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who enjoys crime stories and well developed characters.
