Kit Doyle, crime blogger and radio host is concerned when family member, 17 year old Jessica disappears. All she leaves behind is a not that says “I love you. Goodbye forever”. The chilling thing about this, is that Jessica is not the first teen to disappear, leaving the same ominous note behind. Desperate to find out what happened to Jessica and the other lost teens, Kit poses as a teen runaway herself. It doesn’t take her long to discover that life on the street is fraught with danger, drugs and alcohol and violence dog her every step. But there is one danger out there more deadly than all the others combined and if Kit’s not careful, she may find herself the next person to gone forever. This is a suspenseful read that will appeal to a wide audience, YA, New Adult and adult readers will enjoy this

This was a pretty fast paced book that I just sped through. A group of kids who were in a psychiatric camp together run away and meet up to live in a "commune" with Lucas as their leader. Meanwhile, Kit Doyle becomes aware that her husband's niece is missing and discovers she's living in this "commune". So she goes undercover to try to bring the girl home.

Easier said than done. There were numerous times when I was yelling at these teenagers not to do certain things. And a multitude of times I wanted to just hurt Lucas really, really bad. The book really brought out some strong emotions as I got farther and farther into the story. Which, for me, is a good thing. It means the author did their job and provided an entertaining piece of work that I could really relate to. I would definitely recommend this book!

Huge thanks to Severn Books and Net Gallery for allowing me to read and review this book in exchange for an honest review.

Bonnie Hearn Hill sets up sure-fire suspense with GOODBYE FOREVER, second in her Kit Doyle mystery series.

Seventeen-year-old Jessica disappears from home leaving a note that says, “I love you. Goodbye Forever.” Her family members learn that she’s not the first teen to go missing, and others have left the exact same note. Crime blogger and radio host Kit Doyle wants to help her friend find Jessica, so she goes undercover as a runaway teen. Suspense builds as Kit goes from one dangerous situation to another looking for the girl and then ultimately finding her. Kit joins up with a group of troubled kids, Jessica included, who’ve each left their homes with a single purpose in mind: revenge. It soon becomes clear that the teenagers might be threatened as much by their disturbed leader and themselves as they are by the monster against whom they’ve been plotting.

I loved this book and now can’t wait for the next one in the series. Hearn Hill is a master at weaving suspense through this fast-paced story, giving the reader an edge-of-the-seat thrill ride from beginning to end. Don’t miss it!
