Description
The folk of the dark and mysterious Eben Hollow try desperately to defend their village from the evil hand of Satan and his minions. A bevy of villainous foes led by the wicked sorceress, Eva Strella and her servant of the woodland, Lord Ganoate, give everything they can conjure to destroy the Village of Eben Hollow and scatter its people once and for all. Should they triumph, the gates of hell shall open, unleashing Lucifer's plague upon the seven provinces and the world. The war-hardened swordsman of Eben Hollow, Van Peers, will lead the elders of the village to total war against these tyrannical villains.
Will the forces of good prevail? Or will Eva Strella and her wicked followers allow Satan to force complete surrender of the lands in which they inhabit? Only the moon shall tell...

Eben Hollow has a great old-world horror feel to it, with its quaint village set next to a gnarled forest of dread, inhabited by a mythical goat-man who preys on those who stray from the path. There is also a nasty witch who is intent on extending her rule. Meanwhile the townfolk must make a living and raise their families. The town hero is The Elkmaster, who has pit himself as a holy soldier against the evil denizens of the forest.
The atmosphere is great here, and there is the everpresent suspense of the devil always lurking close at hand. The grisly methods of the witch and her henchman are fairly graphic, but the table is set in a battle of good vs evil. So far, evil has the upper hand. Can the Elkmaster and the good people of Eben Hollow prevail? A fun read, for sure.
The setting is perfect,an isolated village surrounded by a dark wood steeped in unspeakable evil. Unfortunately, it reads as if the editing isn't quite finished. There are 2 names(authors) on the cover and it feels that way, some passages are good, some are frankly disappointing and the entire book lacks some consistency. And as for the final chapter, well ,let's say I'm not completely charmed by it.
