My favourite Christmas film of all time is The Holiday, so when I read about this book I just knew I had to read it.
I certainly wasn't disappointed. The characters where lovely and Zara's writing makes everything seem so real and cosy. This book is a hot chocolate, curled up on the sofa with a snuggly blanket kind of book. Its a fabulous heartwarming what's going to happen next book. All in all I really and truly drank in this book in one sitting as I could not put it down.
This book will make Christmas feel extra magical

The Holiday Swap - Zara Stoneley

The classic romantic comedy ‘The Holiday’ springs to mind reading the blurb for this story. As it’s a firm favourite of mine and I enjoy Zara’s Tippermere stories, I couldn’t wait to read this. I loved it.
For fans of Tippermere there’s a tantalising glimpse of village life in snowy Cheshire, as Flo returns to her childhood home and meets sexy Hugo. A lovely collection of animal personalities guaranteed to make you smile complete this part of the story perfectly.
However, it’s the Barcelona setting that draws you in. The passion and glamour of the city echoes Daisy’s new found passion for life and new love.
There is a definite festive theme to this story but it’s more about, friendship, realising your true potential and living your own life. Something both Daisy and Flo find out as they explore their new environments with new friends and experiences.
The characters are authentic and vivid. The plot comprises plenty of humour and lots of romance. Written in scenes, it’s easy to visualise the girl’s adventures as if you’re experiencing them first hand.
The perfect holiday read.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Hands up who has ever wanted to just get away from it all?! Most of us then!! And in this book we follow Daisy and Florence who have those exact thoughts when things aren't quite turning out the way they had hoped in their respective lives!

Daisy is a real home bird and is happy to stay in the little cottage in the middle of nowhere with her dog Mabel, and naughty horse Barney. But she feels trapped when her on/off boyfriend asks her 'the question' and she starts to wonder if there should be more to her life than mucking out stables and collecting hens eggs!

Florence seemingly has it all - a great career, perfect pad in Barcelona and a seemingly perfect boyfriend of 5 years! Her world soon comes crashing down around her though and all she can think of doing is running away. Thankfully her friend Anna comes up with the idea of Daisy and Florence swapping lives for a while! Giving them both the breaks they need and maybe time for a new perspective on life. And maybe set them both free from the lives they thought they may be stuck with.

Loved the relationship between the three friends - Daisy, Anna and Florence - and the way they took the chance to try something new was fun and refreshing. And of course, there are new love interests for them both when they settle into their new 'lives' and I really enjoyed how natural both felt thanks to some fun characters and interesting situations they seemed to find themselves in!

This is the first Zara Stoneley book that I've read - shameful i know! - so I will be rectifying this in the very near future and look forward to discovering more from this author as I really enjoy the way she captures the essence of locations and the characters she creates!
