Description
On a cold evening Zeb, a single mum in her thirties, is found wandering aimlessly on a remote road. She is dazed, confused and bloodied.
She doesn’t know where she is, or how she got there. She has travelled far from home and someone has attacked her.
Memory loss means she can trust no-one, and with her assailant unidentified, Zeb is desperate to be reunited with her son Matty, and to ensure their safety.
But what will her search for the truth uncover? Will it bring answers, or more questions? And what if the person she can rely on the least… is herself?
The Day She Can’t Forget is tense and evocative, perfect for fans of The Sister or Saving Sophie. Packed full of emotion, drama and mystery, it is Meg Carter’s second novel, following her bestselling debut The Lies We Tell.
Meg Carter worked as a journalist for twenty years before turning her hand to fiction. Loved this book, very pacey and had me gripped from the first page. One of the best of this genre this year.
What a great storyline. This is a very well written book with brilliant main characters. I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.
Two stories running together. One set in the 70's and one today which has you hooked on each one. A gripping read with diverse characters and really good emotive reminders of the 70s. Good twists with a shocker in there too. A slow burner but enjoyed and will now read the first book from Meg Carter.
This was a fascinating mystery and one to be savored! Two women tell their stories-- one in 1974 and one in 2016. And while we know they must be connected somehow, we do not solve the mystery until the end. Both Zeb and Alma are sympathetic and well-developed characters with interesting and poignant stories. Many twists and turns abound as the plot unfolds and we discover just how these lives intersect and overlap. Fast-paced and energizing, the novel doesn't disappoint!
