Many years ago I read this and another book by the same author, Promises to Keep. Both are alternate histories looking at what might have happened if something in the past happened differently. In this case, what would have happened if Marilyn Monroe had been discovered sooner, taken to the hospital and survived.
Recommended if you like books that make you think about what might have been.
