Candle in the Wind

When Frank Galvan is called to check on the notoriously beautiful film star, Marilyn Lane, he comes face to face with her overdosed, near-dead, body… 

Alone in the room, he performs a quick scan to check for any clues that could tell him more about the circumstances leading up to the star’s state; finding things odd, to say the least.

Fortunately, Marilyn is taken to hospital on time … but the drama doesn’t end. Somehow she is abducted from the hospital and it is up to Galvan to find her. 

Something doesn’t seem right to Galvan. 

And though she was beautiful and talented, Marilyn led a much darker personal life. 

As Galvan embarks on his search for Marilyn, he finds himself unwinding a darker mystery and he knows that if what he learned is true, then her life is in grave danger. 

Up in the powerful, political arena, there is a similarly desperate need for Marilyn to be found… but not out of fear for her safety. 

She simply knows too much. 

When Galvan finally catches up with Marilyn, he is a little too late. 

The pain and torture Marilyn faced at the hands of her keepers has changed her.

But she still knows how to manipulate people, especially men and she will use this to the best of her abilities.

George Bernau worked as a motion-picture studio executive at Universal Studios in Hollywood for several years before leaving to study law at the University of Southern California.
