So dry...I love history, but this was so technical. Historians will likely enjoy this book, but it doesn't appear to have been written for a everyday person. I know many people will find this book truly fascinating and informative, just not me. It seems well-researched and well written, just a tad too academic for me.

Being a descendant of William the Conqueror., and many Norman families, as well as King Alfred, I found this to be an interesting book.

I was excited to be able to read this in order to review it on NetGalley. I have really tried but can't cope with the detail. It's an important subject, one I am interested in but this is too dry and bookish for me and I feel sad not to have learned much from it. Sorry!
