This book, by Faye Cahill who is an expert in wedding cakes, is a wonderful book about decorating cakes that are spectacular! She uses so many different kinds of materials to make cakes shiny with metallics. She is so excellent in what she does. I, however, could not do these things, even though there are step by step directions and helpful bit of information. The pictures are so excellent. The cakes, whether simple or complex, are stunning to look at. In this book, Faye gives some of her secrets to decorating the perfect cake. And you will want to try her ideas and tips. In fact, I would love to copy one of her cakes. It may take me a while, but I will try! And it will be fun to learn from her. Great book!

This is an absolutely gorgeous cake decorating book! Since my family doesn't like eating fondant frosting (as is recommended in this book), I will be trying some of these techniques (edible glitter and dust) on top of the frosting we always use. Of course, that may not work out well, but we will have fun trying!

Bakers and Cake Artists BEWARE! Youre really going to be addixted to book and the beautiful creations inside. Oh My Goodness the cute, sweet, deliciousness that I just get enough of. Ilove decoratibg cakes but I've been able to do anything quite as intricate as what is seen inside the pages ofthis book. From Gold Leaf cakes to hand painted designed cakes. You will designs for all sorts of occasions. You will never be bored go grab you a xopy when it hits shelves and see what xreations you make.

The ideas and information given in "The Gilded Cake" is very interesting and presented well. My problem is that each demonstration section begins with "fondant covered cake layers". I will agree that fondant makes a cake look nice, but I have yet to meet anyone who likes to eat it. Since my focus is on great tasting cakes, this book offered little to help me. The cakes are beautiful showpieces though if that is what you are interested in.

Dreamful cake designs. Faye shares her secrets about the creation of these trendy and emblematic cakes. The book explores subjects such as chocolate ganache, the creation of a cake from scratch and multiples techniques & tutorials about cake decoration including flowers, fruits, crystals and metallic accents. Awesome!
