Loved this book! The recipes were not difficult to make and even my boyfriend's kids (who aren't big eaters) liked the meals I made. Chicken is a staple in our house and thanks to this book I have a whole new bunch of ideas!

Yum! As I once again to eat more healthy, chicken becomes a larger part of my diet and my assortment of rubs is looking more and more tired. I need new recipes! Stacie Billis's Winner, Winner! Chicken Dinner appeared in the nick of time. From the down-home to the exotic, fast-food to gourmet, there are recipes here for every palate type and every situation. I especially love the Filipino Style Chicken Adobo! Dig in!

As someone who gave up red meat years ago, I thought I owned all I needed to know about cooking chicken in the cookbooks I'd already purchased. I was wrong. This 'winner' of a book not only addresses the proper choosing, handling, and cooking, it also offers fresh recipes. Colorful graphics and photos grabs the reader's interest from page to page. Thank you to Netgalley for this excellent cookbook.

I wish I had this book as a young cook. Not only does it give every single bit of information the beginner needs to know about our most popular protein, but provides basic techniques transferable to other meat prep. Along with some predictable international dishes, there are some more unusual recipes, too, such as a delicious pineapple chicken salad with green beans and toasted coconut--this combination I would never have imagined was a big hit with me! Another big plus in this short book are instructions for compound butters and sauces that can also be used with fish, pork and beef. This book is a terrific addition to any medium sized or larger library collection

I really enjoyed this cookbook. I am always looking for new things to cook. It is hard to. It also gives you some ideas for leftovers. The recipes that we really enjoyed were the chicken thigh ragu, five spice cutlets, sheet pan fajitas, chicken parmasean meatballs sheet pan shawarma, and filipino style chicken adobo to name. a few. It also gives you some good information about prepping chicken and some sauces and broth. I reccomend this book if you are looking for some new things to cook. I received this book free from Netgalley and here is my fair and honest review.

A lot of people get tired of eating chicken. “I can’t eat chicken again tonight” my sister says to me all the time. But author Stacie Billis has compiled in one book, fifty ways to prepare the blank canvas of chicken that makes it a delight every night.

WINNER! WINNER! CHICKEN DINNER is packed with so much information. Choosing the type of chicken to buy, recipes, ways to cook it, tips for leftovers, and more. Also included are beautiful full color photos that had my mouth watering not only while I was reading the book, but again while writing this review.

With chicken recipes like, Crazy Delicious Classic Roast Chicken, Sheet Pan Shawarma, Chicken with 40 Cloves of Garlic (I know, right?), Chicken Parmesan Meatballs, Chicken Thigh Ragu, BBQ Chicken Pizza, plus stock, soup, sandwiches, salads, sauces, and more, there’s something for every taste.

If you’re looking for a way to get more out of chicken, WINNER! WINNER! CHICKEN DINNER is a book you have to check out.

This book is a great cookbook for beginners in the kitchen. I love that the beginning gives you instructions on how to cut the chicken, which I think can be a challenge to many. There are plenty of good chicken recipes as well. I appreciated that there are various techniques for cooking the chicken including one of my favorite methods- sheet pan cooking. I think this is a great book for someone who is just learning to cook or someone who really likes chicken, but wants variations on how to cook it to keep things from getting boring in the kitchen.

This book is hands down the best cooking book I've ever read. The way everything is explained and the attention the author placed on each detail deserves a standing ovation. I learned something nee on each page. I had no idea stock and broth were two different things. Plus the variety of recipes the book offers is amazing, comsidering there is only one main ingredient. From roast chicken to pasta to chicken tikks masala. This book has everything covered. 5 stars!

So disappointed that this book was not offered in the usual format of books I download from NetGalley. I wasn't able to read this, but I'm going to hit the bookstore on pub date, because I LOVE cooking and I'm always looking for new chicken ideas.

Chicken is popular with almost everyone, so Stacie Billis’ timely chicken cookbook, Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner: 50 Winning Ways to Cook It Up! is worth taking a look at. Billis is an excellent writer and recipe developer, and while looking through the recipes, readers get to know her as a regular person that most can relate to. So, when it’s someone we know, we are more likely to try their recipes.

The recipes for roast chicken are mouthwatering (there are several with unique spices), and there are recipes for sauces and marinades, as well as sheet pan dinners and quick chicken dinners. Billis includes more than one recipe for fried chicken, including one with Indian spices. There are some yummy salads, wings, pizza, burgers, and pot pie. There is something for everyone here. And one thing that is very important to most cooks, and one of the most important features of a good cookbook, there are beautiful photographs of most of the recipes. Because almost everyone loves chicken, this cookbook will keep cooks busy for several months, and several of the recipes are sure to become family favorites.

While this is mainly a book of fabulous chicken recipes, it goes a bit further and covers important information on choosing the right cut of chicken, the different kinds of chicken (organic, antibiotic-free), and safe handling of chicken and safe temperatures to eat it. There are also helps on cutting up chicken, as well as carving. Next is information on brining, baking, roasting, etc. Very helpful.

This cookbook is highly recommended. The recipes are for dishes that real people will actually want to prepare and eat.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

This is really great beginners cookbook and would be a great gift for young adults moving out on their own for the first time. It covers so much information from how to select chicken, to tools, to methods of breaking it down and tons of great recipes ranging from the easiest amateur recipes to ones with complicated flavor profiles sure to impress whoever you're serving. Including yourself! I cannot wait to try a few of the recipes in here, namely the Indian Style Fried Chicken (genius!), the Sheet Pan Shwarama and the Peach Sticky Wings! I really loved how vibrant and colorful the book is as well.

I have seen a lot of better books on chicken cookbooks. What I liked was a lot of cool tips and recipes that don't take too much time to prepare.
I just found some recipes that are ordinary not unique.
3.5 stars for me.

This cookbook is a great addition to any home cook's collection. It had a back-to-basics feel, in that the author took her time to explain things about chicken (purchasing, butchering, brining) that the everyday cook should know but maybe does not. I loved the inclusions of marinades and quick sauces. As a home cook who makes dinner every night, I have my go-tos, and these sauces and marinades will help amp up my regular recipes. I also flagged a ton of recipes that I can't wait to try, like the cacio e pepe chicken tenders and the basil chicken stir fry! A lot of my teacher friends discuss our meals at work, and I've already told them to be on the lookout for this book in April! Thanks to Netgalley, the author, and Storey Publishing for my advanced copy.
