If you are looking for a comprehensive book of questions and description of what makes up the different threads of personalities this is a useful guide.
Looking for a fun way to test your personality? This book gives you not only the tests you've seen elsewhere, but a whole host of others that can be enlightening (or just fun).
Thanks to Quarto Publishing Group – Wellfleet Press and NetGalley for the eARC in exchangef or my honest review.
This book was full of interesting personality quizzes based on various studies. I really liked that the quizzes were outside the box and not like all the others you see everywhere online. I had a fun time taking the different quizzes in the book.
As a person who enjoys doing personality tests and self exploration, I definitely enjoyed this book. My favourite one is Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and I tend to do that one pretty much every year (I change more than I expect).
As someone who loved (still loves) filling out the magazine quizzes in teen magazines, this book was such a fun treat. Some of these were deep, and some of them just goofy, but all of them were fun to do
This attractively designed volume brings together 25 personality tests in one volume, with the explicit message to "have fun” learning about oneself. Pop psychology offers many variations on the classic Myers-Briggs and the very popular Enneagram, and this book offers a chance to explore and compare tests and their origins. Pleasantly composed and competently delivered, this volume is meant for a general audience and could be a successful coffee table book and almost certainly a conversation starter. Enjoyable but not intended for a serious personality assessment.
Loved this! Personality traits are so fun! Would make the perfect gift or coffee table book. The set up of the book is easy to follow and I loved it.
Thank you to the publisher for accepting my request for review, but this book was archived before I could download and review it.
Fun book of personality tests! I have always loved psychology and this book was a lot of fun! There is a big variety and it is appealing for all readers.
this was good and fun to do as a couple. give it a shot they are short. These are fun to take with yourself as well (duh the intended). I think it was fun
This book was a great resource of different personality tests. For anyone who is fascinated, or obsessed, with taking these tests and finding out the differences between them and how they define us, this book is a must read. Very insightful and informative.
The Book of Personality Tests by Haulwen Nicholas is a rather lackluster collection of simplistic personality tests, like you might expect to find in magazines, but with less attractive illustrations. I was hoping for some new personality insights, however small, when I requested and was granted a temporary electronic advanced copy of this book, but alas, I was disappointed. These are the sort of one or two page long tests that involve multiple choice answers (A - D), and then scoring your results by hand, to find out what sort of astronaut are you (possibly the most creative test in the book), if you're a psychopath, if you're an introvert or extrovert, etc. Most of the topics are common ones for simple personality tests, so unless you really really want to know what kind of astronaut you'd be, save your money and your time and take free personality tests online instead. It would be easier than scoring by hand anyway.
Thanks anyway to #Netgalley and Quarto for sharing a free copy of #TheBookofPersonalityTests with me in exchange for an honest review.
I wasn’t able to download this title to my Kindle so unfortunately I am able to give feedback on it. It’s a shame as was looking forward to reading and reviewing.
Sadly, I was unable to download this book in time before it was archived and this I was not able to either read or review it. My apologies.
What a book! I had so much fun (and forgot reviewing the book) doing the test. Some of the simple tests I knew, in abbreviated version, like MBTI. Nevertheless, the rest are new to me, and I enjoyed doing the tests. There are new things I discovered about myself, but there are also facts that cannot be applied, as these are general tests.
This was so much fun and a great throwback to my teen days when I was crazy about personality tests in magazines. What I really enjoyed about it is that it goes much deeper than the usual "Are you a summer or an autumn" quizzes. They go into a much deeper level, and while more than a few seem pretty obvious if you really know the type of person you are the explanations to why and tips on how to deal as that type of person made them all the better.
I grew up taking personality tests as practice for my mom and her peers since she was a psychology student and later a professor of psychology. I always enjoyed them and was looking forward to this collection. These reminded me quite a lot of quizzes you get in magazines. Obviously they can't reprint the real ones but these didn't really offer the insight of the ones I am used to. It will be fun for young folks who just like taking tests and thinking about where they fall compared to others.
A fun book, it's not going to dig deep into your psyche, but it was fun doing all the quizzes. The information on all the different types of personality tests was interesting; some I've heard of, like the Myers-Briggs test, some I'm unfamiliar with. There are 25 tests, each based on a famous personality quiz; however, each test is 12 questions, and therefore isn't going to be as accurate as the full test- keep that in mind. I found out I'm not a psychopath (yay!), my spirit animal is a hare, and I'm a realist rather than an optimist or pessimist, amongst other things. This would be fun for family nights or small get-togethers with friends.
