Trust Me
Yes! Very excited to be reviewing the newest T.M Logan book, a favourite author of mine. Trust Me is of course brilliant and I found myself hooked from the first page!
Ellen is handed a baby (Mia) on her train home to look after for just two minutes but when she sees Mias mother hurrying away down the train platform she knows something is wrong.
I’ll be straight if this happened to me I’d be going straight to the police! But that doesn’t make a very exciting book...;) Boy, oh boy is Trust Me exciting?! Hell yes! It’s great....I mean don’t get me wrong it has its faults but if you’re looking for a nice easy read then this is the book for you!
I must say I hated how Mias identity was kept a secret for so long, I wasted a lot of energy trying to figure it out and by the time it’s revealed....well it’s not a big deal! But that’s a minor issue in a very good book, read this!
4/5.
An incredible read. So many angles to this story - it keeps you guessing all the way through. Sometimes this story is so unbelievable, it’s actually believable. All the coincidences and possible suspects keep you gripped. A super fast read, as you can’t put this book down.
Thank you to NetGalley & Zaffre for my copy of this book to review.
This is the second book by this author that I have read. It grabbed my attention just from the blurb, why would someone hand their baby over to a stranger on a train? As with The Catch, I found this book gripping and fast-paced with an original storyline...I haven’t read anything similar to this before. And I thought I had it sussed quite early on...I was definitely wrong. I did find a few elements a bit far-fetched at times but I think that just added to the excitement.
I would recommend this book to others, and would happily read more of TM Logan in the future.
From the moment the story starts you are captavated and drawn straight in.
Such an intriguing premise that you have so many questions.
The premise; imagine you are traveling home and someone literally hands their baby to you and then walks off. What do you? Why would they do that? You then discover a note that states to not trust anyone. Do you? What do you do?
And so begins a complex and intense rollercoaster into trust, care and shocking secrets.
The character are well developed and Logan generates a realism edge where you want to know more about them as well as feel their emotions.
It's gripping. It's edgy. Every chapter makes you want to divulge into more - there quick, sharp and leave more questions.
The ending is shocking - one you won't see coming. So clever and gripping, I can't wait for the next one.
Ellen is on a train journey when she ends up helping a young woman with a baby, even though it breaks her heart as she can't have her own. She holds the baby while the woman makes an urgent call, but begins to wonder why the woman isn't coming back... then she is astonished to see the woman step off the train onto a platform. About to raise the alarm, Ellen then finds a scribbled note in the baby's bag instructing her to protect the baby and not trust the police, or anyone. Things get more dramatic and Ellen soon realises that the baby might hold the key to a horrific crime. Can Ellen protect the baby's life? And her own? Who can she trust?
I absolutely loved this book, the plot was exciting and tense, the characters interesting, and the twists and turns brilliant. I couldn't stop reading until I reached the shocking conclusion - the ending was fantastic. I thoroughly recommend this book.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.
