I predicted the twist !! Call me the new Agatha Christie

-----

When Ellen Devlin boards the train to London after a fertility appointment, she doesn't expect to get off the train with a baby in tow, left to her by Kathryn Clifton. She was just meant to hold the baby for a few minutes, so Kathryn could have some respite and make a phone call, but as the train pulls into a station and Kathryn gets off, Ellen is left with the baby and a desperately scribbled note asking her to protect baby Mia and not to trust the police or anyone. A baby is all Ellen has wanted, as she cannot produce her own biological child, so being forced to protect Mia means Ellen taps into her motherly instincts and will do all she can to ensure her safety. What follows is a fast-paced, gripping twisty thriller that had me hooked.

Much like T.M. Logan's other books, I really enjoyed Trust Me and the characters and world he creates. Ellen's quick thinking, bravery and resourcefulness make her a likeable and pragmatic protagonist, and the way she cleverly and determinedly gets herself out of suspenseful situations is intriguing and enjoyable. With plenty of red herrings and imminent threats, there is little respite for Ellen and baby Mia. Logan does well to pace the unveiling of secrets, but I do think the culprit is a tiny bit predictable - just because there's almost too much evidence given to make you think it is someone else. Despite this it was addictive to piece together the clues alongside Ellen and whilst moments can feel a tad implausible or far-fetched, ultimately this is an enjoyable exciting read which cleverly uses suspense and unreliable characters to conclude in an enigmatic thriller.

This book starts off with a bang - a woman is handed a child to look after on a train while the mother goes to the bathroom and promptly gets off the train. Like other books I have read and loved by this author the book races along at full speed and twists and turns keep coming. It is definitely a page turner!

This book is very cleverly written. It kept me interested and gripped from the very first chapter. It is consistently fast paced. I worked out who Ghost was towards the end but it didn’t make me feel disengaged at all. I was still curious to find out how it would all be revealed. Great book!

This is the 3rd T M Logan book o have read and I absolutely loved it!! I think it is the best yet!

The story keeps you guessing though out with just enough twists at the right time!

The characters are brilliant and give fantastic descriptions as always by Logan.

I read this in one sitting and would definitely recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley for the chance to read this for an honest review.
TWO STRANGERS, A CHILD, AND A SPLIT SECOND CHOICE THAT WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING . . .

Ellen was just trying to help a stranger. That was how it started: giving a few minutes respite to a flustered young mother sitting opposite her on the train. A few minutes holding her baby while the mother makes an urgent call. The weight of the child in her arms making Ellen's heart ache for what she can never have.

Five minutes pass.
Ten.

The train pulls into a station and Ellen is stunned to see the mother hurrying away down the platform, without looking back. Leaving her baby behind. Ellen is about to raise the alarm when she discovers a note in the baby's bag, three desperate lines scrawled hastily on a piece of paper:

Please protect Mia
Don't trust the police
Don't trust anyone

Why would a mother abandon her child to a stranger? Ellen is about to discover that the baby in her arms might hold the key to an unspeakable crime. And doing the right thing might just cost her everything . . .

I did not know what I was letting myself in for when I started this book.

41-year-old Ellen is returning from an appointment at a fertility clinic. She and her now ex-husband Richard could never conceive and she always longed to be a mother. Her heart is broken when she finds out that Richard's new girlfriend is pregnant.

While on the train, she meets Kathryn and baby Mia. Kathryn seems to trust Ellen and asks if she can hold baby Mia while she takes an urgent call. Kathryn then rushes off the train, leaving Mia with Ellen. Inside the changing bag, Ellen finds a note which says to protect Mia, not to trust anyone and not to trust the police.

Totally unsure of what to do, Ellen finds herself right in the middle of a huge situation. We meet Dominic, Kathryn's sister's ex-husband, Leon, a man who runs a crime podcast and police officers Gilbourne and Holt.

Information is given to us a small bursts and Ellen is trying her best to find out the truth and who has Mia's best interests at heart. We follow along with Ellen's discoveries, suspecting everyone but that ending even shocked me!

My Thoughts: Wow! – this is my first dive into a T.M. Logan book, but he’s very highly spoken of by my reader friends and now I know why, right from the very first chapter this book packs a punch and it just doesn’t stop or slow down at all throughout!

It’s fast paced and no two chapters are told from the same perspective, it’s constantly changing between 3 or 4 which in the best way possible doesn’t give you chance to sit and think about what’s just happened before the same story is told by a different perspective – it leaves you a little confused about who to trust, and why would all these people have guns and want to keep secrets if they all had the same plan, they all just want to protect Mia, right?

I didn’t work out the good guy until they were revealed but I have to be honest, it was the one I was rooting for so I was happy 😂

This book had me doubting absolutely everyone at some points even Ellen! – it had me feeling frightened and nervous in places and actually read like an action film.

I cannot recommend this enough and will definitely be looking into his back catalogue too!

This was the first T.M. Logan book that I've read but after hearing great things about some of his previous books, I was excited to give this one a read.
The concept itself was a really interesting and intriguing one.
It immediately made me think, what would I do in the same circumstances.
I did predict who 'The Ghost' was as soon as all the fingers were pointed in opposite directions.
In a way, I wish the other suspects hadn't all been painted as the 'bad guys' quite as much as they had, as I thought to myself, I'm now 99% sure who is really behind everything.
But I did still find myself thinking, maybe it will be one of the others, with that 1% of me questioning whether maybe there was going to a huge twist at the end.
However, ultimately I had guessed it early on, like I thought, so that was a little disappointing and why I couldn't give Trust Me any more than 4 stars.
I did enjoy the levels of tension and the ways in which they were built throughout.
I also liked the short snappy chapters and how they kept me wanting more, which is what made it a real page turner. That and the fact that I cared about was going to happen to Mia and was rooting for Ellen too.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for what T.M. Logan does next and I'm already looking forward to going back and reading some of his previous books too.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This Author! This book! It may be his best yet if that is even possible.

Thrilling and totally unputdownable it is one of the best Thrillers I've read in a long time. Many twists and turns and well...just read it!! I am so picky with what I read and I can't say enough good about Trust Me.

Very Highly recommend. Now go get it!

A breathless and exhilarating race against time which pulls you in from the very first page, this reader was constantly caught off guard by revelations and plot shenanigans which left me breathless.

How would you feel if a complete stranger asks you to mind their baby whilst they use the bathroom, then, two minutes later, the train you are on starts moving and you see the mother walking away down the platform?

Holy crap, the people you would automatically turn to are the police, the authorities and this is where things get complicated as not only does Ellen have personal reasons why she is on that train, tied in with her fertility struggles, but she has been exhorted not to trust anyone. And then, there is the man sitting across from her who she is sure has snapped a picture of her and baby Mia....

Battling her instincts to do the right thing, her heart tells her this baby is in need of protection and this young woman, Zoe, we later find out, has picked absolutely the right person on the train to guard Mia. An ex-Naval officer with a strong moral compass, Ellen centers Mia and her needs to be delivered, safely, to her family.

However, there are man sized obstacles in her path and whilst Zoe instinctively picked Ellen as someone who she could trust, Ellen is not so fortunate as she has to juggle logic, instinct and her emotions to keep both her and Mia safe. And trust does not come easily, or always in the most expected packaging....

I love TM Logan's morally centered novels where you find yourself not only in a state of panic about the characters he has created, in a Hitchcockian sense, you find yourself thinking what would you have done in similar circumstances?

Would you have done the same as Ellen?

Read 'Trust Me' and find out for yourself!

I always get excited when I see a new T.M. Logan book being published as they are guaranteed to be exciting and gripping reads. His latest book, Trust Me, is no exception as it sets off at lightning pace with such an intriguing premise.

Ellen is left literally holding the baby when she helps a young mother on the train and the mother gets off at the next station, leaving the baby behind along with a note telling Ellen not to trust anyone. Ellen's senses are immediately heightened and she sees danger at every turn especially as stepping off the train with a baby that isn't hers, she is an assumed kidnapper.

I couldn't help but put myself in Ellen's shoes and believe me, it's not a pair of shoes I'd covet but this is where I got a little annoyed at her. The note specifically said don't trust the police but she seems intent on handing Mia over to the authorities at the first opportunity. Of course, I'm not saying I would have been any different and I'm reading a fictional book after all so it's all part of the story.

There's so much going on in the story that I felt quite dizzy at times but I had totally bought into the 'don't trust anyone' storyline so I suspected everybody at one time or another. My sleuthing skills were way off though as I was surprised at every turn as the story raced towards its heart-stopping conclusion.

Although I read it in 4 chunks, I would still say that this is a gripping and addictive book. If I'd been reading a physical copy I definitely would have found it difficult to put down, whereas I only read digitally in bed so it takes me a lot longer to read ebooks.

Completely gripping with a constant element of danger that kept me on the edge of my seat, Trust Me is a blisteringly fast-paced rollercoaster of a read and another cracker from T.M. Logan.

I received a digital ARC to read and review for the blog tour; this is my honest and unbiased opinion.

This was an amazing read. Fast paced, a real page-turner, it made me want to keep on reading to find out what was happening. This was my first T.M.Logan book and didn't disappoint. The main character was just as confused as I was (it seems) and I actually was quite misled and the ending was a true revelation. Without wanting to spoil, the story follows a forty something woman who's sitting on a train, when a mother and her baby girl board the train. The mother asks our MC to hold her baby for a few minutes, only to see her disembark the train and leaving her with her baby. Amongst the baby's bundles our MC finds a note saying to protect the baby and not to trust anyone, especially not the police. Brilliant plot, loved the rhythm. Definitely pick it up if you're a fan of a good thriller.

On a train to Marylebone Station, Ellen holds a young woman’s baby girl while the mother takes an important call. As the train pulls out of the next stop, Ellen is shocked to see the young woman on the platform, abandoning the child in her care, along with a note telling her to trust no one including the police. Arriving in London, and convinced that she is being followed by a strange man who had sat opposite her on the train, Ellen resolves to take the child to a police station. Instead, she finds herself abducted and held hostage...

TRUST ME is a fast moving thriller, full of twists and turns, red-herrings and believable characters. Largely narrated by Ellen, a sympathetic character, whose choices make sense based on her situation and what she tells us about herself, the story is one of suspicion and paranoia. Ellen is thrust into a situation that she does not understand. Having had failed IVF treatment, abandoned by her husband, who is now expecting a child with his girlfriend, Ellen is naturally drawn to the baby. But she does not know who to trust.

T. M. Logan has a real talent for thrilling, psychological mystery. The story is told in short chapters, cliff-hangers which make the reader want to press on. We learn just enough about the supporting cast to make us share Ellen’s confusion and suspicions. The ending is perhaps telegraphed a little, but it doesn’t matter; TRUST ME is exciting and entertaining. It keeps the reader guessing and moves with an intensity and breathlessness; an ideal lockdown read.

A stranger asks Ellen to watch her baby for a few minutes and never returns. Ellen finds a note asking her to protect the baby and to not trust anyone, and she is thrown into a world of danger and secrets.

TM Logan’s newest thriller does not disappoint. He cleverly leaves red herrings and twists throughout the entire book that left me guessing right up to the last few pages. The pacing of the book is excellent; I sped through the first half, unable to put it down without knowing what would happen next.

Praise all round for Logan’s Trust Me, and I will definitely be putting his backlist on my TBR!

Two strangers meet on a train: one of them, Ellen, a woman who knows she will never carry a child of her own, and the other, a young mother with the weight of the world on her shoulders. Although Ellen is uncomfortable in the presence of the young woman and her baby, at first, she quickly finds herself besotted with the tiny bundle when she offers to hold her while the mother takes an apparently urgent phone call. When the mother fails to return to her seat, Ellen is at a loss to explain why anyone would abandon their child, but she is also compelled to protect the baby in any way she can - especially when she finds the note that the young woman has left behind...

Please protect Mia... Don't trust the police... Don't trust anyone...

Ellen's life is about to be turned upside down in her quest to shelter this tiny human from harm - a child that holds the key to solving an appalling crime. Even if this means putting herself in the path of a dangerous serial killer...

Trust Me finds T.M. Logan at the top of his thriller game, with a story so deliciously complex and twisty that you will find yourself unable to decide who the murderer is until the thrilling climax is actually upon you. There are dodgy characters galore here and Logan throws red herrings and distraction techniques your way pretty much non-stop, so, very much like the feisty Ellen herself, you don't know who to trust.

The whole premise to this book is rather clever. It lies in the way Logan uses Mia as the focus of the story all the way through. Why is a tiny baby so important in solving a string of crimes? The truth, when it comes, is shocking, and I have to say, refreshingly quirky. As usual, T.M Logan writes his women well in this tale, and, in using a baby to also underpin Ellen's personal story, it allows our well-drawn protagonist to find a life-line to pull herself out of the sad place she has found herself in - her compulsion to save Mia helps her to save herself at the same time, and I found that really heart-warming.

I thoroughly enjoyed this latest thriller from T.M. Logan's growing stable of gripping reads and consumed the whole book in a single sitting. If you like our thrillers complex and twisty, with a great central character and a slick storyline then this is going to be for you too!

Rounded up from 3.5

This is my third T.M.Logan book and having enjoyed those novels I was very excited to see what this one had to offer.

Trust Me may be just over four hundred pages long, but with its quick pace and short chapters it didn't feel that long at all.

The story follows Ellen, a woman in her forties who's just received the diagnosis that she won't be able to have children. On the train home she's asked to look after baby Mia while her mum makes an urgent call. Time passes, but her mum doesn't come back. Looking for clues to the woman's disappearance it leads Ellen down a dangerous path but she knows one thing, she must protect Mia at all costs.

Ellen was an excellent character with hidden depths. At first you think she's just an average person who I felt more than a bit sorry for, but it turns out she's a bit of a badass. Her determination and stubbornness to let things go really drew me on through the novel.

Being a mother myself, I wasn't entirely convinced that someone would just hand over their baby to a complete stranger, but as the story goes on, I understood why this came to be better.

There's a good deal of intrigue and tension running through the story, and you're really not sure who to trust. Unfortunately, the author tried so hard to deceive that I felt it made the real bad guy a bit obvious.

Trust Me is a quick and addictive read, perfect to lose yourself in for a few hours.

TM Logan never disappoints. From the minute this book starts you physically can’t put it down. He is one of the only authors where I am unable to guess the ending and I love it. This book was gripping, thrilling and dark. I think this will be the book of 2021. I have no negative comments about this book whatsoever, I thoroughly recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley, TM Logan and the publisher for an ARC in return for an honest review.

So this was full of twists and turns, completely gripping!

Ellen was travelling home when a stranger asked her to hold her baby for a minute. Little does she know that the mother will run away and leave Ellen with the baby.

TM Logan is a master of thriller. Leaving clues that you won’t see until it’s explained at the end. A tour de force and exactly the book I needed. Pure thriller no fluff.

Brilliant

What an adrenaline filled ride this book is. Like Ellen I boarded the train unaware of the crazy journey it would take us both on.

Ellen is on the train coming home from hospital after being told the devastating news she cannot have children. Making it worse is her ex husband is about to have a child with his new partner. So the last thing Ellen needs is a woman with an adorable baby to sit right near her and when the mother passes Ellen baby Mia, to take a phone call, the last thing she expects is to then see her getting off the train and fleeing. Leaving a note in the baby bag asking her to protect Mia and not trust anyone including the police.

Ellen is followed leaving the station so makes a detour, now talk about out of the frying pan into the fire. Things rapidly escalate and the next thing she’s got a gun in her back and told to drive. By Dominic the man who made the phone call to the mother on the train. Dun dun dun (felt like it needed some dramatics there).

With a navy background Ellen is resourceful and although I did roll my eyes at a few of her decisions I found I was rooting for her all the way. The tension is kept up throughout the book and narrated perfectly in the first person by Ellen and others in third person.

The paranoia was pitched to such a degree that I was questioning alongside Ellen who to trust. Certain things mentioned gave me my suspicions but were they red herrings to throw me off course? This book screams thriller and I loved every gripping page.

Trust me you need to read this!
