“Please protect Mia. Don’t trust the police. Don’t trust anyone.”
TM Logan catapults his readers into his latest thriller when Ellen Devlin, homeward bound aboard a train to London meets young mother Kathryn and her three month old baby Mia,looking for an empty seat. Appearing distracted and agitated, Ellen kindly takes hold of Mia whilst Kathryn answers an important phone call. As the train approaches the next station, filling up with more passengers, Ellen is alarmed when she loses sight of this young woman only to spot Kathryn minutes later on the platform walking hurriedly away. Thus Ellen finds herself literally left holding the baby, her mother having abandoned little Mia to a complete stranger. Before Ellen can begin to process her role in this unbelievable situation she finds a note in Kathryn’s rucksack, full of baby paraphernalia, warning her to keep Mia safe and to trust no one. In what is an unexpected yet plausible scenario Ellen is left in a quandary as to her next course of action. Common sense tells her to raise the alarm and hand this babe in arms over to the relevant authorities but gut instinct and Ellen’s protective nature compels her to do the complete opposite. This split moment decision will most definitely land her in hot water, cost Ellen her safety and peace of mind in what is the most riveting, nail biting thriller you’d expect from a crime writer of Logan’s standing.
Nothing else will matter outside the pages of this book as the author entices you into a storyline where all the main players are jostling for prime position as someone Ellen can trust above all others. Without delay Ellen becomes embroiled in the mystery surrounding Mia’s abandonment and emotionally invested in the future welfare of this tiny innocent infant but she is forced to question who she can trust. There are numerous individuals who arouse her suspicions by behaving in the most threatening ways imaginable but how do you decipher who is on your side especially when the normal avenues of protection lie out of bounds? That is the conundrum that accompanies you from beginning to end in a storyline that is riddled with deception and false leads plus a fair amount of tragedy and violence. Mr Logan is the master of turning a situation upside down and inside out, his flair and aptitude for disguising the truth and leaving his readers dizzy with confusion is hard to beat. Apprehension is the overriding emotion you’ll experience as each step takes Ellen deeper into unknown territory, a pawn in a tactical game where the only rules are to stay one move ahead of your opponents. Lies, violence and subterfuge are the weapons employed by these seriously untrustworthy individuals and it’s going to take someone of a formidable nature to survive their repeated attempts to derail the course of justice.
Bravo to the author for his portrayal of the strong and independent women characters who dominate these pages. Our heroine of the hour is nothing like the woman I imagined Ellen to be when we first meet her on the train bound for Marylebone station, the recipient of some devastating personal news. Rather than the wallflower I hastily assumed her to be Ellen is one hell of a tough cookie thanks to her past career as a naval officer. Her resilience, imperviousness to constant threats of danger and her forward thinking means she’s a match for anyone. Whilst I’m at pains to avoid any spoilers in the end “everything relates back to Mia”, she alone holds the key that Ellen needs to unlock the truth and decide who is trustworthy. Encompassing one family’s tragic past in conjunction with previously unsolved crimes of a heinous nature, Kathryn’s decision to hand Mia over to the care of Ellen is the catalyst for all the nerve wracking events that follow. Now “the genie has been let out of the bottle”nothing can prevent events from hurtling towards further disaster.
Trust Me is a fast paced action packed thriller that is not to be missed! Despite the fact my vision cleared and I guessed the truth moments before the author reveals his hand this in no way detracts from what has to be THE BEST THRILLER I’ve had the pleasure to read in quite a while. With just a few clever sleight of hand touches remaining before events culminate in a dramatic explosive finale, I was left breathless by the brilliance of this thriller. Reading the last word amid a mixture of satisfaction and regret that I’d already reached the end, I could feel the tension gradually ebbing away as my shoulders finally relaxed, my heart rate returning to normal. Once again T M Logan has delivered an addictive read guaranteed to delight fans of this genre and if I could award 10 stars I would! My thanks as always to the publisher and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read.
I can confess this is my first book that T.M. Logan I have read, and it won’t be my last. I have 29 seconds on my kindle, and I am wondering why I have not read it after reading this.
Ellen Devlin is on a train to Waterloo. When a young woman Kathryn Clifton takes the seat next to her. She has a small baby called Mia. When Kathryn suddenly must take a phone call, she asks Ellen to hold Mia while she takes the call. But Kathryn never comes back. Inside her rucksack is a note to ask her to look after Mia and not to trust anyone even the Police. At first, she heads off to the security guard on the train, but they are dealing with football hooligans on the train. So, she decides that she will get off the train and take Mia to the nearest Police station. But things don’t go to plan.
Wow I really enjoyed Trust Me. One of the best books I have read this year so far. This is a fast paced, high octave story told in in several points of view. With lots of twist and turns that kept me turning the pages quickly as I needed to know what happened. This reminded me so much of a good spy movie. I highly recommend.
This is one of the first books in a long time that I was genuinely hooked by. I love how quickly the story kicks off and it's an intriguing one throughout with a whole host of brilliant characters. Ellen was a strong, likeable protagonist and I really felt for her and the struggles she had been through, the way she felt about Mia was incredibly touching too. There were so many shady characters that as a reader you don't really know where to look. Full of twists and turns, I genuinely had no clue what was going on in this book, which I loved and although I had a feeling who the culprit was towards the end, I was never completely sure. Overall a great thriller that I would recommend.
Trust Me - TM Logan
Having read all but one of TM Logan's previous books, (The Lie being my favourite), I was looking forwards to this.
An unconventional mystery thriller, it starts with Ellen travelling on a train to London, a stranger Kathryn with baby Mia sit down opposite before Kathryn gets up to take a phone call. Kathryn then gets off the train leaving Ellen holding the mystery baby.
So begins a mysterious tale, including kidnappings at gunpoint, house break ins, and a link to a multiple killer who left no trace.
Others characters include the two detectives DI Holt and DI Gilbourne, the hacker / true crime obsessive / disgraced journalist Leon and Dominic, who we meet through one of the kidnappings. All of these are telling Ellen to 'Trust Me' (and not the others), and trying to locate baby Mia for reasons unknown.
Ellen is motivated by trying to protect baby Mia, while trying to stay safe and get to the bottom of the mystery.
I'm sorry to say I found it quite slow, as Ellen attempts to stay safe and follow the leads. After setting up to be potentially tense and paranoid, I felt there were too many unknowns in the game of 'pin the suspicion on the suspect' without having a clear picture of what they were suspected of.
I didn't really connect with the characters, although Ellen's urgent need to try and care for baby Mia was touching.
It all comes together in the last fifth of the book, but it was too little much too late for me to be able to recommend this book.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bonnier Books
What can I say Tim's books just get better and better.
Ellen Devlin is on a train when she is handed baby Mia to hold for a couple of minutes while Kathryn takes an important call but she steps off the train leaving Ellen with the baby.
A note left in the bag tells her to trust no-one not even the police and keep Mia safe.
This was so gripping. I really had no idea who to trust. I certainly didn't guess until right at the end which shows Tim's great talent for writing such brilliant thrillers.
It was fast paced.
It was quite surreal reading a book that was set in and around a place where I live.
Thanks to Netgalley and Zaffre for the ARC in return for an honest review
I feel like I can’t give a full synopsis without majorly giving the plot away so in a snapshot - Ellen Devlin is heading home on a train after an appointment that hasn’t gone well when a woman called Kathryn Clifton sits opposite her with beautiful baby Mia. Kathryn asks Ellen to look after Mia while she makes a phone call. Ellen agrees, only to find that after a few minutes Kathryn has disembarked the train and has left a note in Mia’s baby bag asking Ellen to protect Mia and to trust nobody.
I. Was. Gripped. Right from the beginning, it’s unfathomable to me that somebody would leave their precious child with a virtual stranger but as the plot unravels, it becomes clear why Kathryn felt the need to do it. Sure, the premise is a tad far fetched but it’s executed so well and the story is super fast-paced and full of tension.
Ellen is a great protagonist - she’s brave and intuitive and I empathised with her a lot when snippets of her traumatic past are gradually revealed. In the face of danger, she is only concerned about Mia’s safety and is determined to unpick the mystery that surrounds the whole surreal situation. The other characters were also written really well - it was a conundrum trying to figure out who did what and I can honestly say I had no idea who the ‘bad guy’ was until they were revealed.
The only reason I couldn’t give this book the full 5 stars was because Ellen’s speech at the end, when the mystery behind Mia is cracked open, seemed incredibly scripted and like something that was pulled from an action movie and it slightly dampened all the excitement of the story up until then. However, the ultimate conclusion fits well and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Trust Me is a highly engaging, well delivered read and contains all of the parts that make up a good psychological thriller.

This follows a lady named Kathryn whom trusts her baby named Mia with another lady named Ellen on a train in Waterloo and hands her a note with her baby which stating to dont tell or trust no one! told through many pov's but Ellen's is the main POV throughout this!
5 Stars- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Highly Recommend
I really liked the premise of this book and found it initially quite exciting. Ellen is on a train journey and meets a young woman with a baby. After chatting for a while, the mother says she needs to take a call and asks Ellen if she'd mind holding the baby. When she looks out the window, she realises the woman has disembarked the train leaving her with the infant and a changing bag. Inside is a note saying to protect the baby and not to trust anyone- even police. After the initial setup I found this book lost my interest quite quickly. The story is told from a few different viewpoints and any twists came across as quite confusing. I've really enjoyed the author's previous novels but I found this one just didn't hold my attention or grip me.
4.5 stars
There are so many good thrillers out there and then there are great ones that keep you up all night and on the edge at all times because the pieces of the puzzle that the author has created are coming together one by one.
And there are so many in this story! Like twist after twist after twist, the whole time making me wonder who was the actual culprit and oh! I thought I see that coming my way! But no! Even the smallest of my theories were demolished because, just like our heroine, I didn’t knew who to trust and in what direction will everything go.
Addictive, gripping and a must read story.
I’ve been a fan of @tmloganauthor for a little while now so I was pleased to be accepted for an advanced copy in return for an honest review.
Ellen, who has struggled with fertility, finds herself in an unusual situation when a complete stranger hands over her baby on the train and exits at the next station. Inside the bag is a note of warning to not trust anyone. Ellen has to make a choice- go to the police or try and protect this baby herself?
A fast paced thriller that will leave you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend getting this one when it is published. Lost half a star as I predicted the ending- I like a shocker!
Thank you to Netgalley and Bonnier Books for this ARC.

Wow what a action packed, fast paced thriller by one of my favourites authors. This brilliant story got me involved from the 1st chapter and kept me guessing to the very end,l couldn’t stop reading it. A fabulous strong and likeable female character, a tense and mysterious plot.......who can you trust!
With thanks to Netgalley,TM Logan and Bonnier Books UK for my chance to read and review this book
Really good page turner that'll keep you guessing! This was one of those books that's hard to put down, much like T M Logan's previous novels. Great storytelling and brilliant characters, I didn't want it to end!
Oh. My. Gosh!!! I loved TM Logan’s books before but Trust Me just shoved him into my auto buy list. I’ll buy any book he writes without even reading the description! This book had everything I like in a book. First person perspective from one character. Multiple POV. A whole bunch of crime thriller WTF moments. And my favorite, not knowing who TF to trust! I couldn’t for the life of me figure it out! I felt like poor Ellen had whiplash trying to decide who to trust because they all wanted her to TRUST them. And I totally loved how the details were revealed deliciously slowly! Massive 5 stars and I am already excited for whatever else he puts out next!!!
Thank you so much to Zaffre Books for gifting this book in exchange for my honest review!
If I had to describe T.M. Logan’s Trust Me in three words it would be imaginative, addictive, brilliant, this book is all these things and more, it’s the definition of a ‘thriller’ he provides the reader with excitement, anxiety, tension, suspense, fear, whilst the plot twists and turns like the proverbial roller coaster. Ellen is on a train and minding her own business when she is approached by a woman who asks her to hold her baby Mia whilst she takes a call. But then she spots the Woman leaving the train and Ellen is left holding the baby alongside a mysterious note, asking her to look after the baby and not to ‘trust anyone, not even the police’. What begins as an intriguing mystery soon becomes a heart pounding suspense filled read.
Ellen, tormented by her inability to bear children biologically, immediately connects with Mia as she is everything Ellen has ever wanted. She’s like a tigress with her young cub as her ‘motherly instincts’ kick in, she will do anything to protect Mia from unknown dangers. Ellen is an intriguing character, at first she seems to be your ‘Mrs Average’ but as the plot progresses she becomes more confident and plucky. Like Ellen, I became paranoid, it’s impossible to know who to trust when you're not sure where the danger lies or the people involved.
This book felt very much like a jigsaw puzzle. The author gives you the pieces of the puzzle and you have to work out how they all fit together. I must admit come the halfway mark I had no idea of the who? Why? or how everything could fit together! The author keeps you guessing all the way through. Sometimes this story felt a little far-fetched but as it’s a fictional book, I was happy to go along for the ride. Trust Me is a fast-paced mystery that has all the elements needed for an exciting read, misdirection, unreliable characters and a plot that’s complex and well executed. Highly recommended to all thriller lovers.
What a book! I've enjoyed books by this author so I was excited to get an advanced copy of this one. It was even better than I had hoped!
Ellen offers to hold a baby on a train while the mother takes a phonecall. When the mother gets off the train and leaves the baby with Ellen it starts a series of events that puts everyone in danger. A brilliant plot, great characters and so many gripping twists and turns. I loved it!
I don’t want to say too much about the plot of this one as it spoils the surprises! Kathryn Clifton entrusts baby Mia with Ellen Devlin on the train into Waterloo. She leaves a note warning Ellen to tell and trust no one. The story is told from several perspectives but principally by Ellen.
Right from the astonishing start this book is gripping to the very end. The premise and plot are well executed and the pace is fast with a few occasions to allow you to catch your breath! The tense storyline is exciting, very entertaining with plenty of good twists making it a rollercoaster of a read. There’s a web of deception spun around Ellen so much so that she has absolutely no idea of who she can trust and there are some surprising outcomes there. The characterisation is good from the major to minor characters and Ellen is a very likeable central protagonist. She’s very brave, intuitive, her navy background makes her resourceful and quick thinking, she’s very caring especially for the welfare of baby Mia. She faces threats and danger but she is doggedly determined in her desire to do the best she can to unlock the mystery she has unwittingly been drawn into. The different points of view in the storytelling works well, their perspectives are interesting and a good contrast to Ellens. Although like Ellen I had worked out the perpetrator shortly before the ultimate showdown this does not spoil the enjoyment as you have no idea what the results are going to be! The conclusion is good and fits well.
Overall, a highly entertaining and well written thriller containing all the essential ingredients of the genre.
With thanks to NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK Zaffre for the much appreciated arc for an honest review.
Took me a while to get into this storyline and I didn't enjoy it as much as this author's previous books.
The characters were a bit bland and it didn't keep me on the edge of my seat and on the whole I was disappointed.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bonnier Books for letting me read this book.
Really enjoyed this book, I couldn’t put it down until. plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing all the way through, definitely worth reading
As with all the other books I've read by T.M. Logan this didn't disappoint.
Will have you gripped from the first chapter to the end a well written faced past addictive suspenseful faced past captivating read.
I haven’t missed one of T M Logan books and this one was just as good as the previous ones. He knows how to capture the audience through the writing and story telling. Loved all the twist and turns that come along too.
