I really enjoyed this book. Lots of twists and turns and and an unexpected ending.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC of the book..
I recently read ‘Lies’ by TM Logan and enjoyed it so much I decided I would have to read more by this author. ‘Trust Me’ is a fast paced, well written novel that is a page turner.
Ellen meets a woman on a train with a small child, not realising that her life is going to change forever. She was just trying to help a stranger by holding her baby while the mother made an urgent phone call. Ten minutes pass and there is no sign of the woman returning and when the train pulls into a station, Ellen is stunned to see the mother hurrying away down the platform, without looking back. Ellen is jus about to call for help when she discovers a note in the baby’s bag, three desperate lines scrawled hastily on a piece of paper “Please protect Mia, Don’t trust the police, Don’t trust anyone”.
Why would a mother abandon her child to a stranger? Ellen is about to discover that the baby in her arms might hold the key to an unspeakable crime. And doing the right thing might just cost her everything .
This is an exciting thriller that keeps the pages turning very quickly and makes an entertaining read.
I would like to thank both Netgalley and Bonnier Books UK for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
I think I wanted to like this more than I did. I loved The Holiday and The Catch made it into my top 10 reads of 2020, so my expectations were high. It was a good story, but I prefer character-driven books and this was more action-driven than the author's other books.
I was quite tempted to DNF the book when I was 20% the way in as whilst the premise was interesting, it was all action action action and I didn't feel any kind of connection to the characters. I am glad I persevered as I felt that the second half was much better in terms of giving depth to the characters, and I was really pleased that the ending went in the direction that it did.
Whilst this book wasn't quite for me, I still think it was really well written and a good story so I would rate it 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.
This was my first ever T M Logan book and I will certainly be reading the rest. I’ve heard so many good reviews about this authors other books that I knew I was going to love this one. The last year has been quite slow on the reading front but I zipped through this. I thought I’d worked out who not to trust but, obviously, I was wrong. The book is about a craving for motherhood, a families worst nightmare, a dead woman and a baby in danger. But why is a 3 month old baby in danger and why can’t you trust the police?
Thank you so much for letting me find a new author who’s books I will have to buy.
Tense, Compelling Storyline....
What begins as an intriguing mystery soon becomes heart pounding suspense in this new offering from T.M. Logan. Well plotted with carefully drawn characters, compelling and with plenty of depth. A tense, compelling storyline leading to a neat twist combine for a satisfying read.
From the moment the story starts you are captavated and drawn straight in.
Such an intriguing premise that you have so many questions.
The premise; imagine you are traveling home and someone literally hands their baby to you and then walks off. What do you? Why would they do that? You then discover a note that states to not trust anyone. Do you? What do you do?
And so begins a complex and intense rollercoaster into trust, care and shocking secrets. The character are well developed and Logan generates a realism edge where you want to know more about them as well as feel their emotions. It's gripping. It's edgy. Every chapter makes you want to divulge into more - there quick, sharp and leave more questions.
The ending is shocking - one you won't see coming. So clever and gripping, I can't wait for the next one.

I loved it.
Two strangers, a child, and a split second choice that will change everything . . .
Ellen was just trying to help a stranger. That was how it started: giving a few minutes respite to a flustered young mother sitting opposite her on the train. A few minutes holding her baby while the mother makes an urgent call. The weight of the child in her arms making Ellen's heart ache for what she can never have.
Thanks to NetGalley and Zafre for giving me an advanced copy.
I absolutely loved this thriller by the incomparable T.M. Logan, depicting the story of a woman suddenly entrusted by a stranger to watch over her child. Surprising and thrilling!
Firstly I should say that I am a huge T.M Logan fan so when I heard about his latest book it was always going to end up on my must read list.
Trust Me is a story about a Ellen. She has lost any chance of having her own child and her husband has left her and is having a any with someone else.
She briefly meets Kathryn on a train and agrees to hold her baby whilst she receives a phone call. After she spots Kathryn getting off the train and walking away Ellen finds herself in danger.
I did enjoy this book. I don’t think it stacks up against other T.M Logan books though. It had a strong start which had me invested in the story. The middle I found myself trudging through and the ending had me gripped.
T.M Logan has a way of putting in little clues without you realising they are clues before smacking you in the face with the finale which slots everything in to place and this book is no different.
Although I found myself trudging through the middle of this book I am aware of all of the other five star reviews and so you should absolutely read this fantastic authors latest book.
Trust me, T.M. Logan has smashed it out of the park again with Trust Me! He’s a great thriller writer who always manages to get me completely addicted to his books within a couple of pages but Trust Me really did deliver a hook that sucked me in, desperate to discover the reason a woman leaves her baby on a train in the care of a stranger…
Ellen was a wonderfully strong protagonist-a woman so maternal in her instincts that it seemed almost cruel that she had no children of her own. But that probably made her more protective of baby Mia when she is abandoned on her train whilst Ellen is holding her. I liked the way she thought outside the box, trusting no one, which seemed to go against her nature as such an amiable person! And I know how she felt as I hadn’t got a clue who the bad guys were here or why someone was so determined to find baby Mia…
The shocking moment Ellen realised that she had been left literally holding the baby packed a huge emotional punch that continued throughout Trust Me as T.M. Logan played with my sympathies. It’s one of those books that you just can’t physically put down once you’ve picked up, a thrill fest that delivers a gripping storyline and a brilliant twist. Loved it!
‘Trust Me’ -T.M. Logan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- 4.5 stars
“I’m not anyone’s victim.”
In an uncertain world, one thing remains consistent and that is TM Logan’s prowess in writing suspense induced, page-turning thrillers that captivate the reader from the first page to the very last. ‘Trust Me’ was another sensational addition to his assemblage of literary fiction.
Enter Ellen, plagued by her inability to bear children biologically, she finds herself alone and pining for a family of her own. Upon a train journey, Ellen is thrust into a compelling dilemma when a young woman requests Ellen hold her 3 month old before disappearing out of sight. Unexpectedly, this stranger departs the train and slips off into the throngs of people occupying the platform and bustling towards the exit. But what motives would drive a mother to such desperate means?
Relatively unperturbed, Ellen gallantly faces her fears and risks it all in order to protect the innocent life entrusted to her by a complete stranger. But who can she trust?
Thank you to NetGalley and Bonnier Books UK for this ARC!
An additive, high octane, thrill ride of a story! TM Logan never fails to disappoint with his imaginative plots and the compelling way in which they unfold.
Simply put, this book is brilliant! From the first chapter you’re flung face first into a Ellen’s dilemma. She’s sat on a train that’s starting to move, holding a strangers baby and watching that stranger walk past the window and exit the platform.
TM Logan’s delivery of the story switches up between characters, told in the first person. Which adds to the drama and mystery as you’re only fed as much information as the lead character knows or chooses to let on.
Ellen’s a fabulous character, strong, independent and yet broken and feeling lost after loosing her husband to another woman and finding out that their having the one thing she desires most - a child! I really loved her character and found myself completely heartbroken for her and yet inspired by her total black and white mentality and willpower to see it through.
I loved the twists and turns in this novel as much as I adored the connection that Ellen builds/feels for baby Mia. Logan really plays to the title making you question everyone and their motives.
If you haven’t read a book by this author before and wondering if this book will be for you. I urge you to read it! And if not this one ANY of TM Logan’s back catalogue as each is as expertly written and totally gripping to read as the last.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bonnier Books for my advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
There is one thing you know for certain when you start a book by T.M. Logan. That it won't be boring! Trust Me is an edge of your seat thriller. It's unique, well written and very hard to put down. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fast paced read.
Thanks to NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to read this book.
What would you do ? Ellen is travelling back home on the train when a young woman carrying a baby sits opposite her. They get talking and then the young girl asked if Ellen can hold her baby while she takes a call. Next thing Ellen sees the young woman walking along the platform leaving Ellen holding the baby.
Ellen is just about to raise the alarm when she sees a handwritten note - ‘Please protect Mia. Don’t trust the police. Don’t trust anyone.’ What should Ellen do ?
What follows is a fast paced journey around protecting baby Mia, but who does she need protecting from ? I was hooked to this book right from the very start and absolutely loved Ellen. If you loved a mystery with plenty of twists and turns then you really do need this book !!
Thank you to Bonnier Books UK and NetGalley for a digital copy of this book.
Poor Ellen she was just trying to help, her good deed turned into a bit of a nightmare. Really enjoyed reading this. Brilliant plot. Absolutely fantastic.
My thanks to NetGalley and Bonnier Books for a copy of “Trust Me “ for an honest review.
I’ve loved the previous books by T M Logan and ,although i didn’t enjoy this as much as his previous work, I found this a decent read. Perhaps because I had guessed the ending I wanted to be proved wrong but this was well written and entertaining and I look forward to his next book..
Tense from the first chapter, and then consistently throughout. Couldn't put it down! Full of mystery, and very well written. A big fan of this author anyway, so this read didn't disappoint.
T M Logan is one of my favourite authors but sadly this is my least favourite book of his. I think it’s partly my fault and the fact that I don’t like books about missing children and a big chunk of this book is about a baby going missing and then her life being feared. Something inside me usually avoids these type of books and when I do force myself to read them something in my sub conscience tells myself not to enjoy it. However, I thought that T M Logan may sway me as he is such a fantastic writer and whilst I still enjoyed his writing style and I did keep wanting to read on I couldn’t shift the feeling of unease I had throughout because of the baby. That being said I loved the characterisation of the main character and her passion and determination to fight for what’s right. I also enjoyed the twist at the end about the babies father (I don’t want to say too much or it will give the twist away).
A good read and i expect most people will love it. It’s just my own reluctance about the subject. That being said the main subject aside it’s still a book that you don’t want to put down until you’ve finished it due to the excitement and suspense.
This plot begins when Ellen, travelling on the train home, is approached by a young women and asked to hold her baby while she makes a phone call. Ellen then realises the woman is on the platform and has left the train. Ellen is left holding the baby alongside a mysterious note, asking her to look after the baby and not to trust anyone, not even the police.
This is definitely my favourite book of T.M Logan's. I've always liked his writing style and really enjoyed how the plot was full of action from the beginning and this continued throughout. Logan had me invested from the very beginning and the plot was so fast paced I couldn't help but keep reading. Logan adds mystery to the plot very well, making the reader desperate for more.
Logan writes from multiple characters points of view and some of these characters are not identified until the near end. I found that I did predict the ending however, there were a few twists that left me both shocked and surprised. I couldn't not give this book five stars as there wasn't anything I didn't like or enjoy.
I would definitely recommend this book for fans of T.M Logan and anyone wanting to read an action packed thriller.
A huge thank you to Netgalley and Bonnier Books UK for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest and unedited review.
I love TM Logan’s books and this doesn’t disappoint. From the blurb I expected a certain story but it went off on a completely different wild tangent straight away, with the tension ratcheting up at every turn. Ellen Devlin boards a train home after getting some heartbreaking news at a fertility clinic. A young woman sits opposite with a small baby. This chance meeting sets off a whole chain of events when the woman hands her baby to Ellen while she takes a phone call, but then gets off the train, leaving Ellen literally holding the baby. I won’t give anything away but from this point on there are so many things going on, it’s hard to know who is the true bad guy. I did guess the final twist towards the end but it was brilliantly set up. A fantastic read.
