This was a beautiful story set in exotic Hawaii.
What I loved the most about this book was it’s connection to Meet Me in London.
It’s the same core group of girl friends, and each will have their own story.
This one was Malies story and I loved her in Victoria’s story.
She is fiercely independent, business minded but so much fun.
I loved the surfing aspect of this book and the love story. I especially enjoyed the twist is the tale and the happy ending, eventually.
I adored this book, and I really enjoy Toffs writing style.
I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did.
Meet me in Hawaii
After reading and enjoying Meet Me in London, I was keen to read the next book in the series. I was surprised by how much the setting really brought the story to life, it was really different and I loved the fact the main character worked at a surf school. The whole concept was refreshing and well done to the point where I felt like I was there too.
The romance is very sweet too with believable attraction and plausible conflict. The characters are likeable and I particularly loved Malie’s imperfections and strong-but-cool persona and also Todd and his back story.
The story isn’t just sweet and charming, it’s packed with sexual tension too!
If you’re looking for something to whisk you away from the doom and gloom of the pandemic and want a legal way to dodge the travel ban or simply want some heated romance - this is the book for you!
Having read the 1st book in this series i was keen to read the 2nd one. This one is about Malie. A surfer who lives and works in Hawaii at her godfathers surf school..
Todd is a high flying millionaire who runs a charity that gives children holidays of a lifetime. He takes a group of kids to Hawaii and Malie is tasked with giving them surf lessons.
Over time Malie and Todd start to fall for each other, but each of them have reasons not to trust and share deep pain that has the potential to stand in the way of any happiness that they mayhave.
It was a cute story and i enjoyed it. Looking forward to the other 2 in the series.
This is the second book in the Meet me .... series and this book follows Malie who was introduced in the first book. The book follows her as she begins a new life in Hawaii teaching people how to surf. Although it is the second book in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone as there is sufficient background history provided.
In my opinion this book was a little predictable and there wasn't a great deal of content to get into. However, it is a light and fun romance which is easy and quick to read.
Thanks to the publishers and netgalley for this read.
3.5 stars
If you’re looking for a lovely romance set in a summer destination, this book will be your perfect escape during the pandemic!
Meet Me in Hawaii was a lovely romance, and I managed to read it in two days. It’s very fast paced and captures your attention straight away. I remember Meet Me in London giving me Christmas vibes, and Meet Me in Hawaii managed to do the same with the summer destination. The coctails, beaches and surfing brought a great atmosphere, and during the pandemic, I actually really needed a little bit of that.
I really liked Malie as a character, especially her story, and how she bravely tries to be happy and get rid of all the guild she feels. And I also liked Todd, with his own traumatic childhood and his broken relationship with his father. I loved how these two characters managed to find themselves and click so fast. I loved their beginning scenes, and they gave me many butterflies.
However, then Malie makes some poor decisions, and I didn’t enjoy them. I am not a fan when a character decides to stop a potential relationship from happening because they are scared of being hurt. They could both feel the tension, and they both at some point tried to resist it, and then Malie properly rejected him and I was just agitated. But that’s just because I’m very picky with my romance tropes. It’s a “it’s not you, it’s me” situation. But apart from this, I really enjoyed the whole book.
I especially enjoyed the children and their interaction with Malie as a surfing teacher. Tara’s story was very moving and to be fair, I would have loved to read more about Jonny and Sky. I felt like there was an opportunity to explore this, and things were left unsaid. The competition in the end was quite interesting as well, and I loved the ending.
Even though it’s mainly a romance story, Meet Me in Hawaii is so much more than that!
It’s also a story about grief and guilt, and moving forward. A story about true friendships, one of those strong ones, that are quite rare to encounter these days. It’s a story about relationships, not just between partners, but between friends and parents too. But most importantly, about the freedom to be able to do what makes us happy in our lives.
Georgia Toffolo has done it again!!!
I can’t begin to tell you how much I was looking forward to reading this book! I previously read Meet Me in London, which I adored, so I had high expectations for this one.
I loved both Malie and Todd and I thoroughly enjoyed watching their characters develop both individually and together, but my favourite part has got to be watching the chemistry build between them as the book progressed. The thing I liked most about this book, was the friendships; I loved learning about Malie and Zoe’s close bond and just wish Zoe was in the book more. Tara and Todd’s friendship made me melt and I had such a big smile on my face watching Tara’s confidence grow and her barriers come down to enable her to make new friendships.
The only reason this book wasn’t a 5 star for me is purely because I would have liked to have seen a bit more steam between Malie and Todd. I felt like their characters had so much tension building between them which was great but we didn’t fully get to see them act on their emotions.
Overall, it was the perfect feel good romance and I cannot wait to see what’s in store for the next book!
*Many thanks to NetGalley and Mills & Boon for the e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review*
After reading and loving Meet Me in London, I was incredibly excited to dive in to this story.
Malie is such a strong, caring character who you feel connected to immediately. She is doing what she loves most in the world, surfing, whilst helping others learn to surf safely and share her love of the ocean. When she is out on the water one night, she encounters a man who is struggling to stay afloat. Malie helps him to shore, and when he is laying down on the sand following his close call, she is stunned by her instant attraction to him.
Todd Is a successful. wealthy man who has a heart of gold. He finds himself in Hawaii with the charity he runs, wanting to help get things set up with the surf school. When he finds himself face to face with the woman who saved him the night before, it takes his breath away.
When they are forced to spend more time together, the sparks fly and they can't deny the attraction between them. However Malie is determined to keep a distance between them as she can't allow herself to get close to anyone.
This is such a gorgeous story that I fell in love with from the start. The characters are wonderful and so beautifully brought to life by the author, each of them being given their own qualities and flaws which makes them much more relatable to the reader. I adored the love story that blossomed between Malie and Todd, and the journey they went through as individuals as the story progressed.
One of my favourite reads to date, and I can't wait for future additions to this beautiful series.
This is the second book in this series about a group of childhood friends whose lives are altered following a devastating car accident.
It can however be read as a stand alone novel .
A real chick read just right for a cold winter night or a holiday read.
Pure escapism and a great romance just can’t wait for the next.
Meet me in Hawaii appealed to me as I holidays there in my early 20s and was hoping to recapture some of my holiday memories of Ohau. The story centres around Malie, a young female surf instructor, originally from England who is working at her godfathers surf school following the death of her brother.
Malie is a fiesty, independent woman who is trying to cope with a lot of life changing events. She's left her parents and their closed surf school in England after the death of her brother and come to Hawaii to teach surfing. She's also dealing with the aftermath of a road accident with her friends in which she was one of the only people to walk away unscathed.
One day Malie is surfing with the surf school dog Nula and sees a man struggling in a rip tide in the water, she rescues him and discovers he was trying to save Nula, who was fine. The man is Todd Masters, a millionaire who has founded a kids charity and brought a group of kids to Hawaii to learn how to surf as part of rehab for their mental health.
The plot itself is essentially a Mills and Boons modern romance story so don't expect to much storyline in terms of content as it is mainly about the surfing charity and Malie and Todd's ability to resist ripping each other's clothes off.
The characters are well rounded, including Malie's friendship group now scattered across the globe and who interact using video calls.
I wish there had been more description about Hawaii and the places Todd / Malie visit....for example their visit to North Shore where they watch the competitive surfing or the Dole Plantation for their whipped pineapple ice cream. So many amazing places Malie and Todd could have visited as part of their courtship such as Diamond Head.
I was slightly put off about the romance descriptions, they fall so heavily in love and can't resist each other but when they do consummate the relationship it's all about his "hardness" and her "nubs".... Surely we can be a bit more realistic / graphic and talk about erect penis and nipples...
A sweet story,
This part of a series about girl friends who had an accident in Cornwall when they were teenagers.
Each girl has issues as a result of this car accident including one who is paralysed.
But this is Malie's story.
Malie comes from a family who ran a surf shop in Cornwall and thus spent all her life surfing until her family shut up shop and she was forbidden to undertake a dangerous sport.
It appears that at least one of Malie's parents is from Hawaii, but the story doesn't tell us how they ended up in Cornwall.
I found that some of the story line was confusing. There didn't seem to have been enough time elapsed for Malie's surfing competition wins in Hawaii to have occurred considering she didn't move there until after she left school.
There was a lot of mental angst on Malie's behalf but I didn't find it convincing.
Overall not as good the previous stories in this series.
Meet Me In Hawaii is the second book from Georgia Toffolo.
The story evolves around Malie who runs a surf school in Hawaii. She's had issues in the past with her family and has left everyone behind to surf in Hawaii. At the beginning of the book, she saves the life of Todd who gets caught up at sea. The relationship between Malie and Todd is explored and throughout the book, and you are left wondering will they or won't they as you progress through the book.
I liked that the main characters from Meet Me In London, Victoria and Oliver featured again in Meet Me In Hawaii. I look forward to Georgia's next book to see where the group's adventures lead them to.

Mali is living her life surfing and running her surfing school in the beautiful Hawaii, far away from her old life and her family. She hasn't been happy since her brother died but the arrival of Todd Masters who runs a childrens charity she is helping out could change all that. Can she let herself live and love or will she forever be alone.
For a romance this was quite the thrill ride. We are up and down with these two as they try and figure out what they want. The plot is steady though building to a rather inevitable but still very cute ending. I did find some of their reactions at time a little confusing, they went from anger to love a little too easily but I enjoyed the story. I was invested and wanted the happy ending. The characters are all likeable but each have their flaws and struggles. I would have liked to have seen more of Mali with her parents but thats just more a personal want. The story is cute and makes me want to laze on the beach. This is a perfect summer read or something to cheer you up in these cold months.
I was so looking forward to the second instalment in this series after adoring Meet Me in London.
Unfortunately this book just didn't come close to my expectations. It was basically the same story as the first in the book just with slightly different characters and in a different location. I also found the writing quite poor at times with lots of waffle and 'I want to kiss her but she's insecure so I should give her some space but wow I really love her blah blah' streams of consciousness. The writing felt quite immature and unfortunately for me the storyline couldn't save that.
If you were going straight into this not having already read the first in the series and wanting something very light and easy to read then I can see it being enjoyable enough, but unfortunately for me it missed the mark.
This book is book 2 in this series and in this book we meet Malie who was introduced in the first book, who has started a new life in Hawaii teaching people how to surf.
I really enjoyed the first book in the series, but I liked this equally as much - if not a little bit more.
I liked all the characters and found them likeable, and it was such an easy read that didn't take too much thinking power to take it in, which in turn meant I read it very quickly.
Great book that I would definitely recommend :)
Huge fan of this author and this is another absolutely superb read. I have nothing negative I can say about this book. It has been a great read filled with interesting characters and a unique plot.
This book follows Malie who is a surfing instructor in Hawaii. We were introduced to the character in the first book Meet Me In London. Malie saves Todd when he is struggling in the ocean and a romance quickly blossoms between the two.
This is a fun enjoyable read. I really enjoyed the first book in this series and I was looking forward to reading this second one. I like the characters in this series and the close friendship group. We didn't get to see too much of the other characters in this one due to our main character being in Hawaii so I did miss seeing the side characters that we had seen in the first book.
This was a quick read but I don't think it is a particularly memorable read, The couple got together very quickly in this story which isn't always an issue if they have good chemistry but I didn't quite feel the chemistry between the two characters.
I assume that there will be more books in the series following the other characters from the friendship group which I look forward to checking out when they are released.
Malie's story, set in sunny Hawaii, is the second book in the Meet Me series. It's easy to imagine the setting from the vivid description and sensory imagery. Malie's life seems idyllic, and on a superficial level, it is, but deep down, Malie is suffering from grief and guilt and needs space away from her devastated parents to survive. Todd is outwardly successful with a caring heart, but his difficult early life means personal relationships are problematic and best avoided.
A growing friendship with chemistry and humour draws the couple closer to love, but their internal conflicts are many and make trust difficult for them both. Contemporary issues highlighted knowledgeably and positively makes this more than a conflicted and glamorous romance.
The enduring and strong friendship group surrounding Malie keeps her grounded and moving forward, knowing they want her happiness. This book moves on convincingly from the first story set in London and anticipates the next Meet Me book.
This is an engaging, romantic story with a contemporary focus and a perfect, escapist setting.
I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
This book was so cute! I loved the setting and the characters were great. I loved her friendship with her group from home and their regular chats and video calls. It was so nice to see friendship take a key role in this book!
The plot line was sweet and I loved seeing Malie help children learn to surf and grow with confidence in their own abilities. Todd was lovely and I really liked the aim of his charity work.
Sometimes the communication issues between the two of them annoyed me a little but nothing major! The ending was lovely and it was a good book.
Thank you to Netgalley and Mills & Boon for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
The perfect escapism read in these current times. Loved it. Todd and Malie feel like real characters who are potentially ruining their future by being so caught up in the past. The Hawaii backdrop makes this such a fabulous setting and the surfing scenes are fun.
Definitely feel invested in the romance too.
An absolute must spring/summer read that'll take you away from your sofa.
This is the second book from this reality star turned author Georgia Toffolo and as with the first novel this did not disappoint.
We again meet the same group of young friends that we were introduced to in the first novel, Meet me in London, with this novel featuring Malie, who has left home and crossed the world to Hawaii to teach surfing and essentially run away from her sadness and the tragedy her family and friends have endured.
Once there Malie meets handsome wealthy Todd, also running away from his own life and the two instantly find a connection. As Malie struggles to overcome her fears and the loss of her beloved brother she, with the help of Todd, her friends and the children she helps to coax out of their shells, finds that she can be happy again.
The writing style is warm and inviting and the continuation of the characters helps them become more real and makes you want to hear more about their lives and of their adventures.
I am looking forward to reading more in this series and hope that future books will feature Zoe and Lily, the other two friends. I found Zoe a particularly well thought out character in this book and I would like to hear more of her story.
If a lovely romance on a beautiful island is what you are looking for then look no further.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
