Thank you to NetGalley and Storey Publishing for providing me with a download copy of this book in exchange for my review.
I have recently started the practice of meditation, mindfulness and gratitude. I wanted to review this book to see if could get away from the really repetitive simplistic gratitude journals already on the market and I think Iv found it!
I must admit I was a little lost at first, Iv spent the best part of my early practice being heavily guided and following step by step journals or day by day instructions.
This workbook is a little different.
Instead of making you go through weeks and weeks of the same repeated pages of “today I am grateful for....” and summarising that week with a goal list (like all the other journals out there) this book gives you all the tools and techniques plus the reflective space to write, but with more freedom to fit that in as you wish, around you and your own experiences.
If your looking for something that gives more prompts and guidance for gratitude than simply thinking about what your grateful for, then this is the book for you.
I loved the quotations throughout the book they are beautifully vibrant and break up the sections of the book nicely.
The conversation prompts, bookmarks and affirmation stickers are an added bonus and I think would come in really handy when prompts are needed in life.
I do however felt a little more guidance surrounding the use of the workbook could be included.
If your well practiced in meditation or gratitude this book is amazing for more ideas on how to explore those thoughts. For those a little more unsure or newer to the process and possibly to make this book more accessible, I would love to see some more information on routine and when these activities can be achieved or integrated into the users life.
Much like the chapter about mindfulness while you wait, I feel it would be beneficial to include ideal times of day to carry out some of the exercises as this could help as an additional prompt.
Overall it’s definitely a book I’d look at as a physical copy to extend my mindfulness practice.
For someone who is a mediation/ journaling/ daily gratitude newbie I was looking to explore and get my hands on something that helps motivate me to stick to my daily routine of it-this is definitely that!
Thanks to NetGallery for my gifted digital copy of this! I wish I had a physical copy, but I definitely plan on purchasing.
This helps to get my mind cleared, and my body energized for the day each morning.
I sometimes struggle with daily gratitude and journaling-for that reason I really do enjoy the prompts on this workbook to assist me and give me guidance.
If you enjoy meditation/daily gratitude/ journaling to help balance out your daily life-this workbook would definitely be of gray use for you! I cannot wait to purchase a physical copy!
If you've ever looked for a Gratitude Journal, you'll know what an overwhelming selection there is. Most gratitude journals are rather similar and simple, this one however is extraordinary.
I received a digital copy to review thanks to NetGalley, and I really can't wait until I can purchase a physical copy. Whether you're a seasoned gratitude journal keeper or a new comer you will not be disappointed by this book.
It's beautiful and much more interesting in the prompts and the layout. Using the book every year is something I would love to be able to do.
I am reviewing an electronic copy of this workbook and can only imagine the touch and feel of this book. It is more of a personal journal as there is space in each section to complete and answer the questions or list your responses. The three parts are ‘become present’ ‘seek perspective’ & ‘awaken possibility’. Each section is given a preface and some quotes to reflect on, followed by the exercise to work through in your own time. Postcards, bookmarks, stickers, affirmation cards and post it notes are all included. Loved the colours and fonts of the journal. Thank you #NetGalley for the advanced e-book.
I wish I had a physical copy of this because it is so good! I love the prompts! And each section is a great touch. This would definitely be something I would use on a daily basis.
I love the style of this workbook and what it has to offer. I feel that anyone who read's this will find it really beneficial and will definietly see the difference after completeing it. I feel this could be a book that people buy over and over again to keep them on track in life. I feel that every quote mentioned gives you the boost you most need!
This is not your usual gratitude journal.
I am a huge fan of using a gratitude journal and the idea of a daily gratitude practice. I think it really helps to put things into perspective and feel more mindful about life.
Most gratitude journals I have used in the past are very repetitive, the same prompts every day/evening.
This 'gratitude companion' is different as there is a variety of different prompts, and different sections of the book focussing on different intentions and inner work. I would love to try using this book to see if I prefer it to the repetitive/routine gratitude journals. I love the premise, I love that its so different and versatile but would be intrigued to see how it would work for me in the long-term.
