I like that this book doesn't just look at an artist as someone with a paintbrush but also looks at people such as Vivienne Westwood and David Bowie. It encourages children to persue their dreams even if they believe they're held back by illness/disability and shows them Frieda Kahlo, asks them to face their fears like Louise Bourgeois or to be themselves like David Bowie.
It doesn't give a lot of information about these artists, so parents may want to make sure they know about each of the artists mentioned before going through the book with a child so that they'll have an idea of responses to any questions asked.
I absolutely adore the Little People, Big Dreams series and this compilation book board on famous artists absolutely blew me away! Filled with glorious illustrations, these texts are a fabulous springboard for classroom discussion. I love how they cover such a broad range of famous faces, from scientists to musicians.
I was incredibly impressed with the latest offering from the Little People Big Dreams series. I love how it spoke directly to the reader and encouraged children to change the world, in their own unique ways. The illustrations changed on every page to suit the artist featured, making it a lively and interesting read. I also liked how it included musicians such as David Bowie and fashion designers like Coco Chanel, helping children to see how art can be represented in many different forms.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC - I feel like this book is an essential for every primary classroom and cannot wait to add it to my bookshelf.
I just Love these little books they are always a joy to read. So when Maria published a new version of her book I had to request it. Artists by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara; Lisbeth Kaiser was another brilliant little book and this one was packed with famous Artists of our past and time.
I find all little People Big Dreams series have beautiful illustrations and is very diverse. They are very colourful and very illustrated throughout and are great for very small children .
Another great book for my nephew.

My daughter really enjoyed the book because it was filled with various artists from painters to designers, to musicians from various walks of life. It was really colourful and an easy read. I would buy this for my daughter and for family members.
New edition to the Little People Big Dreams series and is a lovely way to introduce your own little one to artists and designers. It has nice illustrations that are engaging and colourful and the content can be built upon and expanded for both littlies and first readers.
My first Artists would be a very welcome addition to any classroom regardless of age.
It's a short introduction to Andy Warhol, Jean Michel Basquiat, Frida Kahlo, Coco Chanel, Picasso, Vivienne Westwood, Louise Bourgeois, and David Bowie.
Each featured artist has its corresponding illustration (as drawn in the original book featuring the artist)- so the book is varied as no two pictures are the same.
The text is inspiring and inspirational and it is a nice addition to the best-selling Little People, Big Dreams books.
Another little children's book from the Little People Big Dreams series, this one focuses on different artists and it shows pictures of each artist and their names. The illustrations are very nice and they have a unique feel to them. There is not a lot of information on each artist, but this book is a good stepping stone for the little reader, who can then go on and read more in depth books about each artist in the future.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book about Artists which is part of the Little People Big Dreams series has beautiful illustrations and is diverse. The colours and images are engaging and the text is short, ideal for young minds wanting to learn whilst also being inspiring. It is diverse and engaging - I would look to buy for little ones in my life. Whilst it doesn't give a lot of information about the artists (it is rather vague, just one line) it is a great starting point to spark interest and then maybe follow up with the any individuals books with more info that the child takes an interest in. It was would be appealing to girls and boys alike as all leaders are highlighted.
