Due to being ill at the time, unfortunately, this was archived before I was able to download it. As prior books in the series have been excellent for young readers, I am awarding it the same number of stars I usually would. A great series of introductory primers on important public figures tailored to kids.
Albert Einstein by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara was a really lovely illustrated book that I loved reading this to my nephew. We had great fun reading this book and it was special auntie and nephew moments.
I just love these books by Maria. Very Special books.
I received a free copy of this book from the publishers via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.
I absolutely adore the Little People, Big Dreams series and this book, focusing on Albert Einstein, did not disappoint. Filled with glorious illustrations, these texts are a fabulous springboard for classroom discussion. I love how they cover such a broad range of famous faces, from scientists to musicians.
The story of Albert Einstein is an inspiration to anyone who reads it. It captures the fascinating life of one of the most famous scientists of all time, including his struggles as a child, his persecution as a Jew and his lifetime fight for freedom and equality for others.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC - I enjoyed learning more about this iconic figure and look forward to adding this book to my classroom bookshelf. I will also be sharing it as part of my Person of the Week work in Year 5.
Few years back, a good friend of mine gifted me the Einstein's biography by Isaacson and it was such an enjoyable read. Therefore, when I saw there was a children's book illustrating Einstein's life, I had to grab it and give it a read. This book didn't add anything to my pre-existing knowledge but that was expected. The reason I picked up this book was not to know more about Einstein but to see how the author will manage to squeeze Einstein's rich life into a children's book. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this work, especially the illustrations; will definitely recommend!
5☆ Informative, Engaging and Educational.
I absolutely adore the Little People, Big Dreams series and Albert Einstein was one of my favourites.
I didn't like science particularly at school i never understood it and I definitely didn't get introduced to the great minds in Science like Einstein.
I only wish I had been given this Little book at school as it was so interesting and informative without being too much.
Perfect for children as it will hold their attention and the superb illustrations just bring the story and history to life.
Obviously I had heard of Einstein but I had no idea some of the things he helped achieve and create.
It truly is a fascinating little story.
I am surprised it took this long for Little People, Big Dreams to put their spin on Albert Einstein's life. However, it was worth the wait.
These biographies are age appropriate; inspiring and interesting, but not overwhelming. They have bright, beautiful illustrations, striking covers, and look great on a shelf together. I love the diversity of the people featured in this series. Artists, athletes, authors, activists, actors, explorers, entertainers, musicians and scientists.
Thank you NetGalley and Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Another great book, from a fantastic series.
Written simply, but with lots of facts, and every time I read these books, I always learn something new.
These books are just so great. They are written in such a way that is so relatable for younger children.
I (obviously) knew who Albert Einstein was and what he was famous for, but I was unaware of his place in the Second World War so I managed to learn something from this as well.
The concepts in this were a little difficult for my daughter to understand but they led to a long discussion about science.
My niece is 4 and has only just started speaking, she may be getting this book and a compass for her Christmas present.
I learned a lot about Albert Einstein from this book and very much appreciate the way the story is simplified for younger eyes and ears.
I really enjoy all the books in this series and I was delighted to see that they had another new release – this time featuring the brilliant mind that was Albert Einstein!
I really liked how the book portrayed his character and it was a great insight in to this fascinating man, everything about the book worked for me and I thought it was a brilliant little introduction to him for younger children. The images were wonderful and brought him to life.
The book was great in that it really showed it is ok to be a little different with the book covering off that he didn’t actually speak until he was 4 years old and really disliked a lot of subjects at school, to the success he had with his ideas and discoveries that really did change the scientific world.
I liked the focus too on his humanitarian work and his passion for his fellow countrymen, Jews and his homeland which he was forced to leave when the Nazis were taking power with him encouraging US universities to also appoint fellow Jewish people where they could so their academic minds would also be saved, he was passionate about saving and helping as many people as he could in all areas though not just those with scientific backgrounds and attended rallies to gather attention (although the world very soon knew all about the rise of Hitler and his Nazi party)
It is 5 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended! Definitely looking forward to the next book!
A great exploration of the person behind the theories, the curiosity and imagination behind the esteemed figure. I had no idea Albert advocated so much alongside his theories. I'm glad to know he was such an insppiring human being!
This is one of my favourite books in the Little People, Big Dreams series. I found the life of Albert Einstein fascinating, and I learned a lot about him that I did not know. His life was very interesting to read about and it was great to see what a big difference he made in the world with his scientific skills and his peacekeeping skills. The illustrations in the book are beautiful and the text is easy to read and understand. I enjoyed the area at the end of the book, which has photos of Albert and a longer description of his life. I highly recommend this book.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I am surprised Albert Einstein wasn't added to the Little People, Big Dreams series a while ago - but he is finally here - and what a great addition he is!
This phenomenal series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara contains enough enough information about the world past and current inspiring figures which is enough to peak the interests of readers young and old.
Illustrated by Jean Claude the pictures are a wonderful addition to the tale of Albert Einstein. Each books gives insight into the life of an extraordinary individual and the timeline at the rear of the book provides ore factual information.
I adore this series, and say that on every review I write for books in this little people, big dreams series.
This book has to be one of my favourites though! I didn't know much about Einstein before reading, and now I want to delve deeper into his life. I had no idea about his activism for human rights or that it took him until the age of 4 to actually speak!
I also love the closing page of this book - about challenging things! It's incredibly inspiring, and think that young people will adore this book.
