This is a decent introduction to intermittent fasting for women, covering all the different types of intermittent fasting well. I would say it is very much targeted to women who don't as yet exercise, and are looking to lose weight.

Walking is very much presented as the optimal form of exercise, which I'm sure will work for some women, but maybe not all. Also I noted that the Mediterranean diet featured heavily, this jarred slightly with me, as Im not a fan of 'diets' as such, believing that the whole concept of diets just makes us crave restricted food groups more, though I will say that of all the 'diets' out there, the Mediterranean diet is certainly healthier and more balanced than most!

Overall I did enjoy this book, and can see it will be a useful companion for many women starting out on their intermittent fasting journey.

I have been interested in intermittent fasting (along with other dieting fads - it is the start of a new year, after all) and thought that this book might be a good option for me. Honestly, this book is a great option for those new to dieting and exercise and want to know more about the “why” behind both diet and exercise regimens. I would absolutely recommend this book to any newbies out there looking for starting point. However, if you’re looking for more in depth information pertaining to intermittent fasting that is more specific, this might not be the resource for you, I did not receive a lot of “new” information by reading this e-book.

This can be considered as an introductory book on intermittent fasting, but honestly it does not seem to me that it provides much scientific basis and it seems to me that even the authors are aware of this, because they always provide explanations such as: however each of us is different so this may / may not work for you, which is probably the most serious way to address the topic.
In addition, the title suggested that there were some insights related to women, their bodies/hormones/circadian cycles/etc. It is not like that, nor are there any substantial differences, or at least emphasized, between the various ages of the women in question.
In short, to get started and have a vague idea of the subject, this is a book that is fine, but in my opinion you need to read something much more in-depth whose scientific basis is carefully described in the bibliography.

I received from the Publisher a complimentary digital advanced review copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.

I wanted to learn about intermittent fasting so I eagerly agreed to read and review this book. It has a lot of excellent information about fasting including the different types of fasting, how to start fasting, exercises to help boost your fasting, a comprehensive table of contents, and a list of references at the end. I would recommend this book to anyone who wanted to learn more about how and why to intermittent fast.

A beautiful look though how to utilize your inner light in life and how to make your life brighter.Highly recommend. Really have been wanting to get back into IF and this encouraged me to do so while answering a lot of questions and shedding light on a lot of myths. Especially loved the reflection to true life to humanize my feelings and relate. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I have recently read five intermittent fasting books for beginners. I can honestly say, this one is the best. I love that it has a focus on women. It outlines the metabolic differences with intermittent fasting between men and women. It covers myths related to intermittent fasting. A large portion of the book is also dedicated to the importance of exercise and types of exercises with actual exercises explained. There is a focus on the importance of foods eaten and what food to avoid when breaking your fast. The only thing I would maybe add to this book is a section on recommended fasting based on age. I would recommend this book to any one looking to start intermittent fasting and want the information to be easy to understand and relevant.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ebook of this title, received in exchange for an honest review.

My mom and I were never able to lose weight until we tried Intermittent Fasting. She lost 20 pounds. I've lost 15. For several years nowwe've kept them off by sticking to the 16:8 fast. Mom is in her 80s, and I'm going on 60. Again, no diet or exercise regimen ever helped us shed the weight that most women gain after age 50, but daily fasting did, and it comes with a host of other health benefits.

This book lists those benefits. I won't repeat them all here. There are also potential drawbacks that may keep some women from adapting this lifestyle change. Pregnant, nursing, underweight, or anorexic women, you can skip the first half of the book. The second half explains how walking is the perfect companion to fasting, and walking can deliver the same cardiovascular and muscular benefits of running, and we all know running is not for everyone. It's high-impact and hard on the joints.

So, it's simple: eat during an 8-hour window and fast (water only, zero calories) for the other 16 hours, and walk every day, and you can lose weight and be more fit. If the 16:8 method doesn't work, there are others. It may sound daunting and the first few days may be challenging, but it doesn't take long to get used to eating only one or two meals a day.

Wait, fasting and walking are good, but we can do MORE, and we must! We need to eat healthy food (the Mediterranean diet is highly recommended) and cut way back on processed foods and junk food - and in addition to walking, we can do calisthenics, yoga, pilates, isometrics, weight lifting, lunges, and other exercises to make sure we really are in good shape.

Oh, there's always a catch.

Well, it's still a useful book, and a good lifestyle for most of us.

Intermittent Fasting for Women must be a really hot topic. Typing the words into the Goodreads search bar, at least a dozen books popped up with these starting words, followed by whatever distinguishes one book from another on the same topic. In this case, it's "Intermittent Fasting for Women: :A Guide to Creating a Sustainable, Long-Term Lifestyle for Weight Loss and Better Health! Includes How to Start, 16:8, 5:2, OMAD, Fast 800, ADM, Warrior and Fast 5!" - a lot of words for a title! - and so far, I'm not finding it at Goodreads.

So, you can find any number of books on this subject. Is this one better than others? I haven't read enough of these books to say which one is the best.

NOTE: I received an Advance Review copy of this book via NetGalley.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Definitely worth looking into if you wish to lose weight
I have been doing my own version of intermittent fasting for a good few months now, not intentionally though, but I have in fact lost weight. Years previously I’ve tried the 5:2 diet but not with much luck. I’ve also lost weight by healthy eating and cutting out alcohol, and whilst doing that I’ve subconsciously cut out eating during the day, and have in fact found myself doing 18:6 fasting a few days a week. I’ve then read this book, which I must say I found very informative, lots of ideas and tips and tricks. One thing I didn’t find out was if 18:6 is something you do 7 days a week, or just a chosen few days. I’m interested to know, and having read the book, I’ve looked into joining the associated social media group to find out. Highly recommend if you want to look at the different ways you can enjoy this lifestyle.

The author is very thorough in detailing what intermittent fasting is all about.

- How intermittent fasting works for women in particular
- What intermittent fasting is, why and how it works
- How intermittent fasting affects key hormones
- Advice on how to get started and some tips and tricks to make it easier
- Popular types of intermittent fasting - Advice on how to combine intermittent fasting and exercise
- A bonus section with tips and advice on how to walk yourself to your ideal weight
- Why a healthy diet is so important, and which diet is the healthiest and easiest to follow in the world, as well as how to adopt it?

I think the explanation could have been condensed to less pages, but overall it's a great starter book for anyone not sure if this is something they can do.

Overall this is a solid 3-star read. I recently started fasting and have already read 3 other books on the topic, so I cannot say that I saw some new information on the topic. Considering it is targeted at women I expected a bit more information on how and why it is different for men and women to fast. I did like the last part that explored the benefits of walking and the exercises.

This book, Intermittent Fasting was bit of a disappointment for me. The book spends a lot of time discussing the psychological parts of dieting/fasting/exercise, and doesn’t really tell me any more about Intermittent fasting than a free app on my phone would, and certainly not as simply.
If you’re not one for all the filler psychological stuff it won’t suit.
If you’re not one for beginner style diet and exercise info it won’t suit.
An app is easier to use if you get the basic idea of any dieting process. If you don’t then I guess it could be of use. Sorry, but not for me.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I was always extremely interested in intermittent tastings and as someone who suffers from severe health issues I’m slays looking for ways to improve my health. I found this book to be very interesting informational, and enjoyable. Definitely check it out if you were ever considering intermittent fasting.

This is a basic introduction to intermittent fasting but it doesn't provide anything beyond that. I would have preferred more in-depth resources on the variations of intermittent fasting rather than the sections on diets and exercises, which seemed more like filler than anything else. Someone who has never dieted and never exercised might find this useful.

I’ve read a few books on intermittent fasting and this was middle of the road for me. I would of preferred more scientific evidence on the health benefits rather than pages on exercise towards the end section on the book. I do believe in intermittent fasting for both health reasons and weight loss preferring the 8-16 method. More information on what to expect when beginning would of been useful too and more information on how long these symptoms may last and how to deal with these.
