I really enjoyed this book
The book was well laid out, it was nice and had some lovely illustrations
It was well written, the story was easy to follow and it had a wonderful flow to the story
I read the book with my five year old daughter and she loved it
It is 5 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended!
Sharratt-esque Silly Names in a rhyming book.
Like Sharratt's 'Pants', we have here lots of lovely wordplay as we 'meet' a selection of dinosaurs.
There is no story here, just an introduction to a couple of dozen dinos, from Strongysaurus to Has-the-Dino-Factorsaurus, each in their own indicative illustration that children will giggle at.
Fun to read aloud, good to demonstrate playing around with language. I didn't quite see the 'Dinosaur Street' in the title, all the dinos are out of this context and not found on a Street, but I don't think readers will pick up on that at all.
A short bedtime read that has a lot of funny pictures children will enjoy naming and looking through.
For ages 3-6.
With thanks to Netgalley for providing an advance reading copy.
In our house, Gareth Peter is rapidly becoming our go to children’s picture book author. From his lovely picture book about having two dads, to his science fiction adoption story (Forever Star - superb) he writes important topics with a lightness of touch.
His current series the ‘Who Will You Meet…’ books are just pure fun. They follow a very specific rhythm in their rhyme structure that is super conducive to reading out loud to smaller children and Tim Budgen’s art is clear, colourful and totally adorable.
This latest book with some hilarious made up dinosaurs is excellent, and has a very re-readable quality to catch different details each time you whizz through.
Definitely worth a buy - and I won’t spoil the surprise, but the next book in the series (coming later this year) is even more up our… street!
