Title: Sydney's Boxer
Author: Sumi Singh
Pages: 261

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC.

Sydney, just lost her father after losing her mother in childhood. Her father, a famous boxer, leaves his boxing gym for her to run. Sydney, having grown up with an absent father dislikes the sport and what it does to a family. In comes Dean, a cocky boxer who gets what he wants - and what he wants is Sydney.

In this book I can see passion, I can see the author enjoyed writing this book - if this is not her first book I would be surprised. Unfortunately, I have to say that I disliked the writing style. It felt stilted and without flow. It also felt lifeless. The characters felt forced and every interaction felt unrealistic. The writing held none of the passion I believe the author felt for the book. The entire book fell flat, despite a story I really enjoyed. The storyline is definitely something I would enjoy had it been better written.
