Very cute and beautiful illustrations. I really enjoyed that it ties in Greek myths and astrology. While my kids didnt get the connection from that, they did like his never give up spirit and the illustrations. I am looking forwards from more in this series. This is a book I will purchase for my own library.
I received a copy for review and my thoughts are my own.
Disguise in the form of a little sheep, the author wants to recreate the traits of an Aries that is courageous and adventurous. The little Cosmo just feel like going out of his safe surrounding and starts his new journey. Beautifully illustrated and nicely written, this story would remind you of how an Aries can be.
This is a cute fun read with beautiful illustrations. Cosmo's story is so sweet, I look forward to the next book in this series.
I received a complimentary copy from Independently Published via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
The little ram Cosmo has all the characteristics of the Zodiac sign from Western culture. The series is very nice illustrated and explains in a very simple and clear language for children the features of the Aries from the Zodiac. It also includes here and there some Greek mythology elements and all in all it can be a very nice read for children and grown ups as well.
This was a cute book! I love the illustrations and Cosmo's drive to break the mold. I'd love to see more of this series. Did I mention how FREAKING CUTE the illustrations are????!!!!
I didn't even realize that this book was about the Aries Zodiac sign until I payed closer attention. This was a cute story. I would have to mention that the copy I received wasn't well formatted. However, still a good story.
Cosmo is an Aries sheep. Cosmo has grown up in a safe environment. Cosmo got older and decided he wanted to know the world. Cosmo goes to explore and learn. He is bold and curious, never giving up to find what he wants to know.
The author has written a sweet and cute story. He uses the astrology sign of Airies for his personality and trait. It’s a fun book to read.
What a cute book! A young ram wants more than what he grew up with. The author tells Cosmo's story to show the traits of being independent, stubborn, outgoing, adventurous, optimistic, responsible, strong, competitive, loving, and assertive in a fun little book. Although the author is open about their belief in astrology and the traits Cosmo displays are elements of an Aries individual, once the story gets going astrology isn’t mentioned as the reason Cosmo does what he does, which I like. The reason the book loses a star is although the wonderful illustrations and format are for a young reader, the language (word choice and sentence structure) is not. There is a disconnect between the elements, but Cosmo’s story would be a great read-along for littles and their adults. (And did I mention the beautiful illustrations? So nice.)
Charis Papalas scores with a novel idea for a series of children's books!
The Tale of Cosmo, the Adventurous Sheep is the first in a series of books about each character in the Western Zodiac. Cosmo is a ram, corresponding to the zodiac constellation of Aries, and much like Aries-born people are said to be, he is stubborn and adventurous, deciding to leave his home in search of a place he can call all his own.
The illustrations are bright and colorful, and Cosmo himself manages to be small and cute even though the art is fairly realistic. It's a very cute idea for a series, and I can't wait for the rest of the books to come out to see what adventures my children's zodiac sign's characters will go on! Looking forward to the rest!
This is the first story of the Zodiac Tales. It’s a cute story about Cosmo the ram. Cosmo has all the traits of the zodiac sign Aries. He is strong, responsible, and adventurous. The illustrations were fun to look at and the story was engaging!
This is a really sweet picture book about the zodiac sign Aries, a little ram who works hard and seeks adventure, which are personality traits attributed to Aries. The story brings in some elements of greek mythology as well as the ideas related to the zodiacs while telling a fun story for kids about a ram who never gives up. As a grade 3 teacher (and a lover of astrology) I would definitely choose this book for my classroom library. It is a fun story that can also teach about a belief system and Greek culture and history. I would recommend this book to teachers and families of children in the 5-10 age range. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book!
A wonderful tale of an Aries personality cute sheep showing a story of adventure and determination to find a place to belong. It's a book that I would gift for fun to my stubborn friends. Easy story but vibrant illustrations. My fav page is Cosmo swimming. I love the detail of the symbol glowing on his horn. I hope the author completes all the zodiac animals. I would love to collect mine.
I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
The Tale of Cosmo the Adventurous Sheep is a lovely story about a little ram called Cosmo and how his Aries traits help him to find his own path and adventure with determination and perseverance. I think this is a really cute concept/idea for a book series and I look forward to discovering more in this new series based on astrological signs for children.
This was super cute and super sweet. I was grinning the entire way through. I mean, who doesn’t love a book about an adventurous sheep am i right? This was a delight to read. I love adventures and I love sheep. This will surely get your children in the happiest and joliest of moods while reading!
I received an ARC of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book is actually a lot cuter than I expected it to be. Cosmo is strong, persistent, and brave. His parents are willing to give him wings. The illustrations are cute and the ending is motivating and sweet. Not being a student of astrology, that take on the story didn't really appeal to me and I have a hard time imaging it really making sense or mattering to the target audience. All in all, though, it's not too shabby.
This was a cute book! As an Aries myself, I quite liked our firey Aries protagonist Cosmo, who sets out on a journey of adventure and self-discovery, in spite of all the naysayers and obstacles he encountered. I liked the art and depiction of Greece as well.
I absolutely LOVED this book! I have an interest in astrology and my son does to. It's such a great way to get children on board with astrology. The story is so cute and it does teach independence to children among other things such as being adventurous. So cute so sewwt, gotta love the book!! I cannot wait to read more children's books from this author.
I received a free copy of the book and is voluntarily writing a review
THE TALE OF COSMO is a short and wholesome story about a sheep of the same name. Cosmo, an Aries sheep, feels like there should be something more. It was a cute story about finding yourself and being independent. With a very light and fluffy palette, the illustrations pulled me into the story.
“The Tale of Cosmo the Adventurous Sheep” is a cute picture book about a determined little ram and the adventures he has on his way to living is authentic life. On his journey Cosmo demonstrates the traits associated with his Aries Zodiac sign.
Some of the vocabulary may be advanced for new readers, but the bright illustrations and exciting story make this a fun read-aloud selection.
Best suited for 4 – 8 year olds.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my advance copy.
This is a cute story about a little ram named Cosmo who has wanderlust. He is not satisfied with his life on the same old island with the other goats, so he decides to venture out and find a new home. He catches a ride on a boat with a fisherman, and when the boat shipwrecks, he realizes he has found a new home and flock. He climbs a mountain with the other rams, and is the first to reach the summit.
My 4-year-olds enjoyed this adventure and the bright illustrations. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a digital copy in exchange for an honest review.
