I loved A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating a Demon. I adored all the main characters and it had such a good storyline. I don’t usually read books with witch’s or demon’s in but I fully immersed myself into this story as it was so well written, very romantic, and I loved the idea of the Magic Mariel had. It also carried a nice message about self-worth and the balance of nature.
I mean, the title of this book alone had me sold. Witches? Demons? Magic? Romance? Yep, I’m all there for that.
It was a very easy book to get into and the whole dynamic was an intriguing one. A demon accidentally summoned to bargain for the witches soul? He can’t leave her until he’s completed his mission but she’s rather fond of her soul and doesn’t want to part with it, leaving them somewhat at an impasse…
Seeing their pair slowly (but reluctantly) draw closer was adorable to read and I couldn’t get enough of their cute little exchanges. I had no idea how it was going to end and with the odd events and dramas peppered in, it had me on the edge of my seat. But gawddd Mariel’s mother is a mean hellbeast and I always looked forward to her pages to see if the daughter would finally break free of her mothers vicious chains! Oz was a great character too and I’ve always loved the fake dating trope.
Fair warning for spice though. Plenty of spice if that’s what you’re into and an inevitable ‘falling into bed’ scenes follow. Well, quite a few actual. It’s certainly covered well in this book…
It was a great ending though and one that’ll leave you wanting more and not quite ready to leave the world this book inhabits. I wasn’t expecting there to be another in this series and I’m glad there is. I’ll definitely have to check that one out!
This was fine but it just wasn't for me. I was putting the book down constantly and kept struggling to pick it up again.
I didn't find the characters hugely interesting, they felt like they were lacking any sort of edge and I didn't see any connection between Mariel and Ozroth. And for a demon, he didn't come across as that scary or intimidating. He's called Ozroth the Ruthless, after all.
I don't think I share the same humour because the funny parts were lost on me. Also, there's quite a lot of sex in this, not sure if I should have expected that or not!
I know many people will enjoy this but it wasn't what I was hoping for.
When Mariel - a witch with an affinity for plants who is a disaster with everything else - accidentally summons a demon, she finds herself stuck with the man until she agrees to barter away her soul. But as feelings start to grow between the pair, it seems being stuck with him might not be all that terrible ...
This book is a sweet, sexy romance with a fun cast and a punchy plot. Absolutely loved it from start to finish!
I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review
Wow, I'm blown away. I LOVED this story and will definitely be purchasing a copy when it's published - I'm hoping it'll be picked up by Fairyloot or Illumicrate for a special edition as it deserves it.
The characters in this are sublime, grumpy sunshine tropes are my favourite and this is just *chefs kiss* perfect. Oz is such a darling, his 'soul' is just beautiful.
Amazing. I had so much fun with this one and loved it from page one. This one was really nice to read and very entertaining and engaging. Highly recommend if you are looking for a great witchy read
This book was such fun!! A lively fake date romcom with witches, pixies, demons and lots of spicy magic. Lovely characters and a tongue in the cheek all the way through (even in the hot spicy bits...) Really enjoyable. Recommended.
